It's never really brought up, so is it made clear enough in TWoK that all those followers of Khan's (Like 14ish?) are the children of his original 72 Botany Bay Survivors? They're all as young or younger than David Marcus. Khan is the only one of his age group who was strong enough to still be alive

I always thought they are the others from the Botany Bay that were also in TOS, just played by different people now and a few years older. They'd be much younger if they'd been born after Space Seed.

I thought that for a while too, & then it just kept seeming like these actors are way too young to be his original crew, even to portray them. Working out the years gets me, because Space Seed is 2267 & TWoK is 2285. So, it's been 18 years they've been marooned, & many of them do look older than 18, but... not by much, & then there's this line of dialog he says about them
Khan said:
Captain, Captain, Captain... save your strength. These people have sworn to live and die at my command two hundred years before you were born.
So, it is specifically said that they in particular predate Space Seed.

Now I'm thinking that his original colony of augments, numbering around 84 (a sum of 12 lost in hibernation) included these 14 as the very young children of others, & they've been the only ones strong enough to survive with him, or had been the most protected by their now deceased parents.

If memory serves, Joachim is the son of Joaquin (the one who slapped Uhura in the briefing room).

Greg Cox wrote a terrific set of novels about Khan and his people - where they came from, how and why they got together, how they survived (or didn't) on Ceti Alpha V, and what actuallly did happen to Marla. I just tend to take that as canon, since it makes so much sense.

They’re not a very talkative bunch, that’s for sure. They kind of just mutely hang around looking like stoner hobos.

I think I posted this comment in the past. The strangest thing for me is: the original group in Space Seed were very diverse. The group in STII all appear to be Nordic types.
