Just bought a new Driver.. oh baby!

Yeah, after years of teeing off with a 2 wood, and delaying the inevitible, I went and got a preemo driver..

The TaylorMade r7 CGB Max Driver.

And because of a price label "error" on the sign at the store, I got this baby for $149!!

With my wife out of town last week, I went out and played three rounds of 18 holes. Man, does this baby make a difference. Most notably on #10 at Wellshire where I always laid-up -- a par 5, 250 yards to clear the water off the tee.

Well, I stepped up, clubbed it and hit it about 290-300. Hit a nice 160 yard 7 iron on the green and 2-putt for a Birdie!

Anyway, I'm loving this club!

What kind of driver do you all use?

I'm actually in the market for a driver - just bought myself a set of Cleveland CG4 Irons and a rescue club and now I am in need of a new driver as I fucking hate my old one.

Any recomendations, apart from yours?

Well, I've hit this Nike SQ Sumo Driver and really liked it - my friend has it. Great feel, and in fact I would have considered this driver if I hadn't got the deal on the TaylorMade.

Two seasons ago I bought a set of Nike Pro Combo irons. Can't say enough good things about Nike clubs.

I went through several drivers last year. I ended up selling the ones that didn't work; in the end I kept the Calloway Lady FT-5 draw.

My big purchase this year was a new putter. Putting's the worst part of my game, but until recently, I've bought my putters at places like Fleet Farm. Finally broke down and bought a decent putter: A Ping Craz-E. Still getting used to it, but so far, so good. I won 14-7 tonight in league, but that was more due to my opponent falling apart than it was to my new-found putting prowess.

I'm a 25+, and haven't played much ata ll in the last few years. My oldest son is going to start taking golf lessons this summer so I think I'll get back at it again. I'll need a whole new bag of clubs at this point I think.(Just have some cheap no name set)
