Jason Statham & Transporter Movies?

I have to say I find these awful films a guilty pleasure & I actually like Jason Statham's acting...

Anyone else like the Transporter movies or Jason Statham???

I am actually looking forward to seeing The Expendables with Statham, Jet Lee & Stallone...among many others.

The first one has the best unintentionally super-gay fight scene of all time.

At least, I think it was unintentional.

I like the Transporter movies. Want an adrenaline rush with a lot of action that's both impressive and mildly comedic? These are your movies. The first is my favorite too. A lot of the action in the second one was too over the top and silly, but they dialed it back for the third and I was happy to see that. It leads me to believe that the franchise isn't going to go off the rails.

The second one was bad so I kept watching it.
The part where he drives the car off a ramp and flips it so that the crane can knock the bomb off was too stupid.
He went so many times in the movie with just licking and punching people that he should have killed...then he snaps the neck of the co-pilot of the plane at the end. WTF?

If they make more of these I will definitely go see them. Statham himself I like quite a bit in this role. He was very good in The Bank Job. Now filming a remake of The Mechanic an old Bronson/Jan Michael Vincent movie.

I like the Transporter series it's a worthy action franchise and why his inclusion is so awesome in Expendables. He's the "new" blood of action films in there with the 80's & 90's stars of the genre. I think it speaks volumes that its Statham Stallone went for and not say Vin Diesel(although I do like his action stuff) or Dwyane Johnson.

I still can't believe JCVD turned down the opportunity to do Expendables, saying it didn't look good/promising or something along those lines. JCVD has sooo much else going on even if he turns out to be right. Which I doubt.

P.S. - not a fan of the Crank series though.

I like the Transporter films as well. I plan to pick them up whenever there's a box with all 3.

On another forum, someone transcribed a magazine interview with Van Damme and Lundgren. They were given the same questions. How different their responses are speaks volumes.

WHAT, IF ANYTHING SCARES YOU?

JCVD - Losing my family. Simple as that, but life is life, and I roll with the punches as a team player and do the best for the best. Family is family, and as equal are my dogs.

DL - My kids getting hurt.

WHAT'S THE STRANGEST THING YOU'VE EVER KICKED?

JCVD - I only kick logical targets and well-thought-out tactics.

DL - Grace Jones.

WHICH PART OF YOUR BODY IS THE DEADLIEST?

JCVD - It depends how you know yourself, train yourself and understand both your physical and mental power when power-housing your combat system.

DL - My left knee, for kicking.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ARNIE MOVIE?

JCVD - Terminator and Conan. I found his power as an athlete is very strong and respectable.

DL - Conan The Governor.

TALK US THROUGH YOUR SIGNATURE MOVE
.

JCVD - I am not to clear with this question. A signature means an idea sourced by yourself to bring out a fresh image. Mine would be my martial-arts status as an action star, yet acting's become a growing energy. I feel my characters more than in the past, where I felt them too, but more in a commercial way.

DL - You back up and your opponent moves in swinging, you sweep his front leg with your left leg, bring your foot back for momentum then bring your left knee up into your opponents face - which should be moving downwards having lost balance from your foot sweep. The collision course of your knee and the soft bones of your opponents face leads to spectacular results - usually K.O. and a hospital visit.

IF YOU COULD FIGHT ANY HISTORICAL FIGURE, WHO WOULD IT BE?

JCVD - I fight who I respectively fight, but the word "fight" places itself along many different lines of emotion and reasons to fight. I don't know exactly who I would choose. I don't normally like to fight from nature, just appreciate the beauty and power in a solid, good spar.

DL - Mas Oyama, the founder of Kyokushin Karate - the style I practice. He was known for unarmed combat against bulls.

YOU'RE BEING ATTACKED BY AN ANGRY BEAR. WHAT DO YOU DO?

JCVD - Am I cornered? Is the bear quick, slow or aged? There needs to be more technicality to the question.

DL - Point my 44. Magnum and pull the trigger five times.
