JUST SO I CAN RETURN THEM!!!!

They seem to have a new set of commercials featuring a black-and-white cartoon of "hip" and "street" jive-talking.... kids. (I think.)

Anger-fying.

I'm now wondering whether a transaction and then a refund counts as economic activity or not, when calculating GDP. Technically, it might well be (both involve an exchange of goods for money).

You may just have stumbled on the secret method for pulling the USA out of recession!

Trekker, you may just have become everyone's goddamn hero.

What aren't you angry about? My shoes? I don't even know, i just bought them at Payless.

So to make a statement, you are going to essentially waste both your and some hapless clerk's time? :wtf:

I had a pair of Skechers once, like 10 years ago I think, when I was about 12. They weren't "cool" then though...

Why does that make you angry, exactly? And how could anything in that commercial be more obnoxious than getting angry over something this petty or buying shoes just to return them, as if that somehow makes a statement to the Skechers company instead of just annoying a store clerk?

Sketchers are helpful aides to recovery from orthopedic malfeasance.

I decided tonight that it's time to replace the pair I've worn nearly every day since March. The soles have cracked along the center, allowing freezing cold rain water to soak my feet from the bottom up.

Trekker, just choose to ignore inane marketing as much as consciously possible. Don't empower some ad agency by letting their half-baked campaign pitch piss you off. You done exactly what they wanted you to do because they've gotten you to not only notice the product, but spread awareness and foster conversation about it via word of mouth. Now you're doing their job for them and ensuring they'll make even more stupid ads to keep you talking.

Skechers = meh. Another American brand who curiously refuse to ship larger sizes over to Britain. Tall people aren't allowed to wear nice clothes, apparently.

Tall, average-build people in general get screwed over in the fashion department. It seems that if you're tall these days, you're also supposed to be a lard ass OR an anorexic emo kid.

The only jeans I can buy are Levi 501's in a 36x36. None of their other designs, just 501s. Boot cut jeans are out of the question. Gap used to sell them a few years ago but stopped.

They used to have a little grid above the displays showing what sizes the jeans were available in showing that 36x36 was available but wasn't true. When I asked they just said it was a mistake and now they don't have the sizing grids on display anymore.

I can only buy UK size 13 shoes from specialist stores and even then they are not big name brands.

Being skinny really doesn't help much either. I have the same build as most mannequins (which is kind of disturbing, but that's just the way it is), however, the clothes they put on them are deceiving because they're always pinned or clipped in the back. It's kind of ironic and a little annoying that clothes aren't even made to fit the way they're displayed and advertised!
