(The woman is the covert operative who's determined to expose Torchwood. She was overheard (by davidbamford) saying to the paramedics 'there's no need to hurry'.)

(The above was a rehearsal. According to Scooty the clapperboard showed this scene is: scene 211 - Episode 5.)

Tina from DWF reports the following information from the new issue of Torchwood Magazine:

Casting Details:

Lucy Cohu will play Alice, described by Bennett as 'a woman keeping many secrets from her past'
Susan Brown plays Bridget Spears, 'a character vitally connected to the government which plays an important part in the story'
Newcommers Cush Jumbo and Rik Makarem both 'play characters destined to become hugely connected to the Torchwood team' Bennett teases 'whether they like it or not' Jumbo takes on the role of Lois Habiba, 'a secretary who hacks into some vital information' while Makarem is Doctor Rupesh Patanjali 'a junior doctor at St Helens hospital who gets drawn into Torchwood's investigations. Bennett goes on to praise Rik and Cush with the acting that they have already filmed.
Peter Capaldi will play civil servant John Frobisher a man 'who is hiding a terrible secret'
Paul Copley will play Clem 'the survivor still haunted by his past.
Liz May Brice plays Johnson a 'cynical covert government agent determined to expose Torchwood'

Peter Bennett told Torchwood Magazine that 18 days into filming and he couldn't be happier with the results. He added ' The story is both epic and intimate and see the Torchwood team and their new allies facing a threat the like of which no one has seen before. The regular cast are very excited by the scripts, which include plenty more secrets for Captain Jack, a huge crisis for Gwen and Rhys, and an exploration of Ianto's family'.

We should be so lucky. I even have the perfect idea for bringing it in. The next time Jack is on Who...

JACK: Why didn't I know you travelled with a talking penguin?
*Camera angle on the Doctor from over Jack's shoulder, so it looks as if the Doctor is speaking directly into the camera.*
DOCTOR: I do have a life outside of you...
*Camera zooms out slightly, revealing he's talking to Jack*
DOCTOR: ...Captain.

Oh yeeeeeeeeeeah to all of that.

That one shot of Gwen redeems all of her role in Merlin.

Which version, where? Is it available for the States? Who is in the starring role?
BBC's new version, it's airing in the US on NBC in January. Starring Colin Morgan (Jethro Cane from Midnight) as Merlin, Anthony Head as Uther and John Hurt as the Dragon.

Eve Myles plays the guest villain of the first episode, before Michelle Ryan (as in Bionic Woman) becomes the main regular villain in later weeks.
And to forestall a question that might be asked: yes, the teenager from Midnight is playing Merlin, that's not a mistake - Merlin is a teenager in this version. Richard Wilson is playing his wise old guide character, Gaius.

Well, I don't even know what Midnight is...another show, I presume. Anyway, sounds interesting. I'm willing to give it a shot... :techman:

Oh God I want Gwen Cooper bad...What's wrong with me!!!

I've always thought she was a minger (isn't that what you Brits call an ugly sheila?) but sometimes I really want to shag her.

The yanks won't understand a thing I just said then.
