How to contact Patrick Stewart?

knowthyself

Commander
Red Shirt
hi everyone.
I'm not a big poster, more of a reader of this site and what others have to say. So, hello! But, I thought that I would ask this question.

I'm making a small film (that I don't plan to distribute in any way) about the birth of my son. In it I've got a "Captain's Log" scene with the Enterprise flying by. I know, I know, how do those go together? I'd explain, but it would turn into a TL;DR.

I'd really love to have Patrick Stewart voice it. Yeah, I know, wouldn't we all. It's a moon shot but it's like I tell my kids, "trying is what's important."

So, does anyone know how to actually contact him? Again, long shot, I know, but I thought I'd ask.

You don't contact Patrick Stewart. Patrick Stewart contacts you.

Seriously KTS, that is borderline stalkerish.

Just go to a convention like everyone else, pay your $300 for your 2 second snapshot with the guy, and be happy. If you are lucky, he might say hi to you. Patrick Stewart, won't be doing voice overs for your home video. Patrick Stewart, or any celeb is not going to care what you have to say, and doesn't care to know people like you. I am not saying that to be mean or insulting, its just the truth. Celebs rarely want to have anything to do with fans, and the more they gush over them, the more they want to get away from them. There's thousands of fans who stalk celebs, which is why they are always on high alert around fans.

You'd probably need to give him at least $500,000 before he'd even consider it, and you'd need to go through his agent, not ask him directly. You're asking for him to do a job, not a favor.

Just find a friend who can do a good impression of him.

Eh, I don't know if it's stalkerish. You hear stories about celebs being nice to fans. I am not so delusional to think that it's likely however and I have no reason to believe that he would help out.

I'm just looking for a "yes" "no" or "more info required" from him. If it's a "no" than he'd never hear from me again. Further beyond that would in fact become stalkerish IMO

LOL, that's probably true. Wonder what he charges American Dad?

Know anyone that does a good impression?

I'd really say your best bet is to tweet at him (or have a friend who's got a public Twitter account tweet at him), put out the request, and be ready to accept that he's going to never see it, or will ignore it, or will decline for any of many good reasons.

But, what the heck, now and then the stars align just right, and you might catch him in a whimsical mood. Don't count on it, but, after all, the worst he can do is say no.

(Well, the worst he can do is ridicule your request in front of his entire Twitter audience. But it's not likely he'd do that unless you were really obnoxious and demanding.)

Even if you should reach him and he wanted to, he probably has a contact with his agency that specifies he can't do free gigs. Some are liek that. Hell, I've heard of one that won't even allow free signatures.

Brent Spiner.

Seriously though, Patrick Stewart is a pretty common voice to impersonate. There are lots of people you can commission to do it, sites like fiverr may be what you're looking for.

Ah, virtual hugs to you for the fiverr idea. Never heard of it before.

I'm thinking an impressionist is probably the best bet.

thanks for the opinions everyone!

Good on you for having the positive attitude but I think in this situation the chance of success is close to zero. In fact I think expecting any kind of response is setting the bar pretty high. I second the idea of just doing a voice impression.

You mean he's not in "the book"?

this made me laugh out loud for real.

I appreciate all of the responses from you all. This place sure has changed a lot (for the better) from, say, the Insurrection days. I know if I would have posted this back then it would have been reticule after reticule only.

I know it's a stupid pipe dream after all.

An impressionist is the way to go and there are in fact several on fiverr.

Best wishes everyone!

You know what? GO for it! It may be you get the bad response, as mentioned upthread, it may be you get no response, but IMHO, the most important thing is that your kids knew you tried. Good Luck! :techman:

If he were to say yes to something like this, he'd wind up getting an avalanche of similar requests for months.

The best bet for something like this, IMO? If you know someone who would be in the position to ask a favor of him. A lot of these stars receive requests and contact and such daily from all over. You'd have a hard enough time getting his autograph. Just being realistic, not pessimistic.

Knowthyself said it, I've heard an impressionist on Fiverr do it and he was really quite good. You'll get the same effect and humor and save money you could spend on your child for something important you may want down the road. Oh, and you could have it over and done with in a day or two. Good luck! And congratulations. If Nicole de Boer is reading this, I've got an ice cream soda with two straws with your name on it.
