How many crew members on Discovery went to the future?

How many crew members on Discovery went to the future? Including how many named people? Also, besides Captain Pike, Spock and Una how many named people did Discovery leave behind in the past in episode Such Sweet Sorrow, part 2?

At least 30 crew members stayed in 2258. Discovery originally had 136 crew, about 18 (i think) died in the battle with control, based on the crew badges on the makeshift memorial wall in one of the corridors. Discovery's crew compliment after arriving in the future is stated as 88 in 'Far from home' the second episode of Season 3.

When I heard that 88, my reaction was "wtf?" since I'd assumed the only people staying were those that went to Michael and announced their intentions. Then I kept seeing odd extra crew people in the background and... yeah.

How do we know that any of the crew stayed behind?

I always assumed that the entire ship's complement stayed on board when they made the time jump.

Indeed, why would any of the crew be allowed to remain behind? Wouldn't that raise the risk of Control finding out (if there's any of it left)?

Because it was stated as much in Such Sweet Sorrow. And indeed, the crew complement given in early season 3 is about forty less than that given in the first two seasons. I doubt forty were killed in Such Sweet Sorrow.

Indeed, we know Dr. Culber was originally going to stay behind but changed his mind at the last minute.

By that logic, shouldn't Pike have also been required to go with them to the future?

I'm sure telling the crew, "Sorry, but you've gotta come with us into a future where everyone you know who isn't on this ship will be dead," would have been great for morale though.

We did see them all lying about Discovery being destroyed (Spock even wears a memorial pin in one episode of SNW), and being sworn to secrecy about the whole thing. I presume nameless ensign #147 went though the same even if we didn't see it.
