We did see them all lying about Discovery being destroyed (Spock even wears a memorial pin in one episode of SNW), and being sworn to secrecy about the whole thing. I presume nameless ensign #147 went though the same even if we didn't see it.How do we know that any of the crew stayed behind?
I always assumed that the entire ship's complement stayed on board when they made the time jump.
