The Guardian| Honor Blackman, James Bond's Pussy Galore, dies aged 94

She also was Diana Rigg's predecessor on The Avengers, appeared in movies like Jason & the Argonauts, Something Big, Bridget Jones' Diary, or Cockneys vs. Zombies, and had guest appearances on TV shows like The Saint, Columbo, Doctor Who, and Hotel Babylon.

I always thought she was the most genuinely beautiful of all the 'Bond girls'. She just seemed like a classy lady in a pool of bimbos. RIP Honor.

This has got to be a fan made trailer. It seems way to modern for 1964.

Anyway, I saw a blurb on her earlier today but I didn’t read it. Sorry to see her death was probably the reason for the article. She was the perfect Pussy Galore. Too bad they changed the character in the movie. RIP.

Damn, a terrible loss. :(

I don't know how I didn't know she was in Doctor Who. Clearly it's time to watch Terror of the Vervoids again...

This was such sad news to wake up to. Cathy Gale was a trailblazer, and so was Honor Blackman.

Requiescat in pace, and thanks for the memories.

The footage from later Bond films is kind of a giveaway. I think that space shuttle launch was from Moonraker. No space shuttle in 1964.

Here's the original one:

Ah, what a shame. She did live a nice, long, and memorable life, though. She was wonderful as Mrs Peel's predecessor in The Avengers and, of course, iconic as Pussy Galore-- I love how she delighted in discomfiting the conservative press over that name. Come to think of it, Honor Blackman is quite a cool and theatrical name in and of itself.

RIP, Honor Blackman. :(

Yes she was. Cathy Gale was one of--if not the first truly self-sufficient action females in a mainstream TV series, predating America's similarly formidable Honey West by three years.

Blackman was a strong presence in anything she took on, and always a classy woman in interviews.
