Really? I didn't get that vibe at all. It probably didn't help that she didn't have a good wifi connection.
Oxford. Will and Lyra spend time in Cittagazze and our modern day London
Oops, my mistake.Oxford.
Well, there is an extra character there unless he shows up after the first novel.Looks pretty good. I didn't see anything that looks like they diverged too much from the books (once I figured out what the black shimmering stuff in the air was suppose to be).
I only found out by chance on the day, but it still recorded on my set-top box. I've enjoyed what I've what I've seen of it so far. However, when they came here (and I do mean 'here' literally as well as figuratively as I live a few hundred yards from the spot where they film the crossing point between our world and theirs) I really wish that Lyra was exposed to some more of the aspects of our world that would be foreign or wondrous to her to see her reactions. For instance, walking down a street in our Oxford she encounters a same-sex couple which I imagine based on the nature of her world would be to say the least frowned upon on her Earth. So did everyone just miss that it’s back on?
Mind if I ask howso?
I feel GoT's biggest issue, especially toward the end, is trying to fit too much material into too few episodes, and losing a lot of the nuance in the process.
I can't remember, were the books just from Lyra and Will's perspectives?
I'd cite the Drogo-Daenerys interactions as one thing that suffered due to the time compression. Really I wish Drogo had been given a bit more to do (though I did like his appearance at the end of S2).
I think most of GoT holds up, but I'd call the next-to-last season 'faltering' and I think it really dropped the ball on the last season, trying to cover too much stuff in far too few episodes.
I haven't seen HDM yet, though I read the books some time ago.
