HBO's "Westworld", starring Anthony Hopkins/produced by J.J. Abrams

But it's supposed to be 30 years between those two timelines. And there is no creativity in the park? They never redress their robots? Can't it become boring for the costumers? Even if the robots are like comic characters? Mickey Mouse and Superman got a new suit too over time and are still who they are.

I just don't see any visual difference between those two timelines. I also can't see any difference in the "real world" between those two timelines. It would be cheap if the writers had two timelines and then say "the robots wore those clothes for 30 years", so they could hide their great twist.

They do. Delores just clearly hasn't needed a new uniform given her storylines. It really is that simple.

So far we only know of two people who've been repeat customers, and neither of them have seemed to really care what the hosts are wearing. Hell, one only cares about removing them.

Considering that's exactly what they want, is that really a surprise? They didn't want the audience to pick up on the clues this quickly. Having Delores change clothes every other scene (and in several cases, mid-scene) would be too much of a clue.

Except they didn't "wear those clothes for 30 years," nor has it been an issue for anyone anywhere except for you desperately reaching because you think the idea is "dumb." Several of them wear the same type of clothing, but I sincerely doubt they're wearing the same exact outfit even if it was just one timeline. Because, you know, your silly reaching applies equally well with just one timeline as it does two; why aren't they changing clothes every day or every time their clothing is damaged? Why isn't your brain exploding over that mind-blowing concept?

Hommage to the old movie? :D

A simple homage would have been handled differently - like on the old computer monitor (or whatever it was) that could be around from 40 some years ago. Or in the video commercial as part of a montage or something....

The Star Trek equivalent would be seeing the Franz Joseph Federation Seal (as seen on the floor of the shuttle port in TMP) appear in a TNG/DS9/VOY timeframe as a current logo intermingled with the other TNG/DS9/VOY Federation Seal.

No, it's too simple but would be typical for the Nolans and JJ. Being overly complicated and super-simplifying at the same time so that the weak story doesn't fall apart too much.
Of course if she wore a different dress the whole twist wouldn't have worked. But thank you for explaining that to me.

Won't answer to the rest of your post, it would make my head explode you know. You probably take it bit too seriously if you write stuff like that to someone, who talks about a tv show.

The real question is how does MiB keep his clothes in good condition. Does he leave Westworld to freshen up? Doesn't seem like it, imagine the body odor! The horror.

If the multiple timelines theory is correct, it would mean that the cinematographers are deliberately editing around the goal of making the audience draw false causal connections. It would mean the writers are so impressed by their planned twist that they have to directly manipulate the narrative to introduce contradictory evidence without explicitly disproving it. I don't know why so many people are rooting for this. It would mean that this great new show we're all enjoying is in fact shitty and unnecessarily convoluted.

Another important question. :D
Maybe they have self-odouring (if that is a word) clothes in the future.

Yes, that's what I fear too.

Some (quite a lot, actually) disagree. They're being very clever with how they're obfuscating the truth of multiple timelines. The contradictory evidence that certain people keep clinging to isn't contradictory at all given what we've seen as opposed to what we've been told; most notably the sophistication of the first generation hosts versus the more recent models. Old Bill aside, all of the examples of first gen hosts we've seen are indistinguishable from the modern ones; Dolores -- who we know for a fact is a first generation host -- being the prime example.

I'm sure they can bathe in Westworld. It'd be a security risk for MiB to let his guard down that long, but it's possible.

So...

WestWorld confirmed one fan theory tonight by revealing that Bernard is in fact a Host, but the thing about this particular reveal is that it wasn't actually telegraphed within the contextual presentation of the show* and is simply a case of the fans getting lucky with their speculation.

* The reason I say this is because Jeffrey Wright did an interview with IGN in which he says that, although he'd personally known what was coming since shortly after they started filming Episode 2, he was consciously careful to avoid putting anything into his performance that would overtly give away or hint at the twist.

There was, actually, a little clue last week when he said to Ford, "I should be getting back" -- echoing the phrase he's used to dismiss Dolores each time. I was hoping I was wrong about its significance, but...

ETA: So -- now we have to reevaluate who has what particular information, since apparently Ford knows everything Bernard knows. Or...does he?

So everyone being a robot wasn't that crazy after all. I hope this doesn't become like nuBSG with more and more characters being revealed as robots.

How very convenient for you to have totally ignored the explanation I gave as for why I made the statement you quoted and tried to deride me for.
No, I didn't ignore it. It was just a ridiculous and completely irrelevant... let's call it "argument." Like most of the ones you keep making. And once proven wrong on other things, I'm sure you'll stick your head in the sand and claim everyone was still getting "lucky," too, when they caught some if not most of the clues being offered. Just like this time.

"Oh, the actor said he tried hard not to let anything slip, ergo, I have proven that there have been NO CLUES whatsoever and everyone made this stuff up out of their butts!" How do people even come up with poor logic like that?
