Guinan and Q; ever explained?

Mage

Vice Admiral
Admiral
I checked Memory Beta, but couldn't find anything.
Is it ever explained in any novel what the 'dealings' were exactly between Quinan and Q, or Guinan and the Q, since she stated in an episode of TNG she fond some of them almost respectable.

"Starlog" once had a very cute cartoon of Q freaking out when he first saw Guinan on the Enterprise-D. His reaction to her was because she was... his "X".

It's one of the few backstories that I'm satisfied with in my own imagination:

Q shows up on El-Auria (sp?)
Q tortures Guinan's people.
Q leaves.

That finger thing they did in "Q Who" really made it look like Guinan had some super powers of her own. I wonder what their original idea for that was.

I once proposed doing a book about this, but Paramount asked me to refrain. At the time, they thought it best to keep the matter mysterious, which was a perfectly legitimate call, especially since TNG was still producing new episodes.

Now that TNG is off the air, they might feel differently.

I say pitch it! Could make for a very interesting read I think.

Seconded! I would totally pre-order that one.

Has Guinan even appeared in any relauch books? I can't remember her being in any; if she was, it must have been a minor role.

She's got to have been in at least one other "relaunch" book, as I distinctly remember a sequence where Guinan makes the decision to leave Picard and the Enterprise-E behind, and I've not read Indistinguishable From Magic.

Wasn't that not the EE? Wasn't that from Christopher's Buried Age?

^Right author, wrong book. It was in Greater Than the Sum. I brought Guinan back in that novel with the intent of having her remain, but Dave's Destiny outline was already written and required (or at least assumed) her absence, so I wrote her out again at the end, and I think it ultimately served the story better that way.
