Young Justice - In Young Justice, being a teenager means proving yourself over and over—to peers, parents, teachers, mentors and, ultimately, to yourself. But what if you’re not just a normal teenager? What if you’re a teenage super hero? Are you ready to join the ranks of the great heroes and prove you’re worthy of the Justice League? That’s exactly what the members of Young Justice — Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis—will find out, whether they have what it takes to be a proven hero. This all-new series is produced by Warner Bros. Animation and based upon characters from DC Comics.

Sam Register (Teen Titans, Ben 10, Batman: The Brave and the Bold) is the executive producer. Brandon Vietti (Batman: Under the Red Hood, Superman Doomsday, The Batman) and Greg Weisman (Gargoyles, The Spectacular Spider-Man, W.I.T.C.H.) are the producers.

Seems Greg Weisman is becoming the new Paul Dini/Bruce Timm.

Hopefully Weisman will be able to fulfill his 5 year plan with out Disney or someone else pulling the rug from underneath him.

Well, I guess that definitively scuttles my wishful thinking that Ultimate Spider-Man would be a retooled continuation of Spectacular with Weisman getting to continue his arc. That series is officially dead now -- unless Marvel lets Weisman do a wrap-up comic. A shame.

Still, it's good that Weisman will still be working, and getting to try his hand at the DC universe this time. Still, maybe he should avoid planning too far ahead this time, just in case... ;)

So Aqualad is black now? Is that from the comics or original to the show? Not that I mind adding some diversity, of course.

And presumably this Artemis isn't Artemis of the Bana-Mighdall, who was briefly Wonder Woman a while back. I seem to recall the character was originally "Arrowette" but they decided to change it? Good call.

Any word on who the character designer is? The look is familiar.

Is Artemis a new code name for the Arrowette character that was initially listed in the preview art?

I know he's been in comics and in young justice but Robin again? Hopefully he'll continue to refer to the "old man" from time to time

If the description is accurate, it sounds like the Justice League is going to exist in this show's universe, so hopefully we'll get some glimpses of it from time to time.

This looks like a more serious Teen Titans; one more in line with the established DCAU (if not necessarily part of the same Universe). Might be good, if it avoids "X-Men Evo first season" syndrome.

I doubt it'll be too much like the DCAU. It sounds like it'll be younger-focused, much like Weisman's Spectacular Spider-Man was -- though hopefully it'll be as smart and fun as SSM was.

I like how M'gann is the only one with a big smile on her face. Very in character.

Sigh. Once again, the Wonder Woman mythos gets left behind; they really need to resolve whatever issues there are with the use of that property.

Well this is pleasant news...always good to see Weisman jump aboard something new and this seems like a loose adaption or at least inspired by the Young Justice comic. I wonder what version of Robin will be in this one too. The designs of the character look familiar too as one poster suggested.

I'm not very familiar with the source material but I'm a bit disappointed that they are analogues of such familiar DC stalwarts.

I'd rather Disney just let Weisman keep making Gargoyles till he gets tired of it (or puts out Season 2 - Part 2 on DVD), but this could be good.

Artemis, should of been Cassie Sandsmark (And if it is, her name should be Wonder Girl)

And Arrowette (if Cissie is in this) should instead be Speedy (Mia Dearden of course)

And I have no idea why Aqualad is black.

Er, Artemis is Arrowette (just renamed).

I think that was my point.

I always preffered Speedy over Arrowette (whatever she's called)

Any character named like an Amazon though, should in fact have been an Amazon though.

Maybe it's the Green Costume of hers, it's making me think Green Arrow sidekick, and Mia always comes to mind over anyone else.
