Looks like it's definitely carrying on the gore. Crazy how on youtube they censored the swearing, but seeing someone get punched through their skull is ok though.

It looks like the lead character is blood-bending ala Avatar: The Last Airbender. Although possibly just only able to use their own blood.

I had no idea this existed/was coming. Not sure when I'll get around to it but looks good. Do we know how many episodes it'll be overall? Will tide me over till the next season of the Boys comes anyway (do we know when that is coming?)

The content warning at the beginning of the first episode spoiled that
someone was going to attempt or commit suicide. Figured it would either be Golden Boy succumbing to pressure, Cricket for being treated like dirt on social media, or Marie would try to kill herself with her powers and find out she can't die (like that anyway).

Not usually into teen angst shows, but this one is managing to hold my interest despite the teen angst. I'll stick around for the season.

Most reports always say sometime in 2023, though at this point I think it more likely it'll be sometime in 2024 instead. The good news is they filmed everything before either strike began so if it is 2024, it should be early in the year. Indeed, I suspect they may be intentionally withholding it so they will have new content in the new year, which the strikes have almost certainly put a limit on.

I was a little surprised how much they've already revealed about what's going on.
So far I think favorite character Emma/Cricket. I liked Marie at first, but she's done some shitty stuff that's turned me against her a bit.

Finished the first 3 episodes and i am not sold.

It is The Boys just with more gore and gross out scenes but without the amazing actors and characters of The Boys ( it's hard to compete against Starr's Homelander, Urban's Butcher or Quaid's Hughie). The mystery concerning the school is the one thing that barely kept me watching for 3 episodes when i would have turned it off somewhere in episode 2. I'll be probably watching more but it will not be Must See TV for me, i'll watch it when i feel like it.

Really liking it. By the way, I know it's a tv show and not a documentary etc, but really, if they are your average teenagers who needs villains? There is no one among the characters who I would call at least a decent person. All adults are cynical and greedy, all teenagers selfish and mean. Probably the least worse is Marie's roommate.

Isn't that what The Boys is? Even the "good guys" aren't exemplary human beings.

Well, the ones we see in the series are either the psychopath "superheroes" or people who have become cynical and ruthless to fight them. We rarely meet ordinary people.

But I imagine that those we see in Gen V are all children of parents who decided to inject compound V into newborns without obviously their consent. So the family context of these kids is already quite deviant. It really surprises me that it's not something they bring up to their parents more often! We've seen more than once that the powers that come with them aren't always "cool."

I don't really like the change that somehow parents knew about the existence of compound V. The whole thing about the Boys was them discovering compound V and how Vought developed it and administered it secretly in hospitals to cause the birth of superpowered people.

Introducing the idea that hundreds (or thousands) of 'regular people' knew about it and deliberately took it seems to undercut the secrecy bit. From a morality standpoint it makes sense in the Boys universe given what we've seen of how some of these parents pushed their children for financial gain/fame using their powers.

Just mini-binged the first three…Gore City - not an utter shock - but there are some scenes and actors to like. Normally, I would be reluctant to watch - most of the cast could be my own kids/ grandkids - but there is something…

Finished the first 3 episodes this weekend. Not really sold on this. Probably will watch the season but this isn't going to be 'appointment' TV for me. To me it's obvious the Producers are trying to out-gore The Boys season 3 and it's really becoming a detriment, not really in my opinion a service to the story being told. I'll give it a few more episodes and re-evaluate...

Seen the first one. Nice to be back in this world. I’ll get around to the others before the 4th drops.
