When gagh was first introduced in Klingon culture, in A Matter of Honor, Riker prepared for his exchange to the Klingon ship by eating gagh. On the Klingon ship, though, the Klingon Lieutenant Klag gave him a plate of live gagh, with the innocent affectation, "Gagh is always best when served live."
In later episodes, live gagh became a popular staple in the Klingon diet through DS9, Voyager and Enterprise.
Am I the only one who thought gagh was an obscure dish, normally eaten the way Riker first tested it on Enterprise - and that Klag was actually hazing him with live gagh? Did anybody else get the sense that live gagh was an unusually orthodox dish, even for the Klingon crew?
