what kind of camera do you have?

reason I ask is because if it's a digital camera, you should have white settings which you should be able to adjust. Best to do your white level adjust against a blue background (believe it or not) like a blue piece of poster board that you can buy at Staples or Walmart. It makes flesh tones appear more natural and whites whiter.

The pics there look like they were taken in the 1970's. If it weren't for the cars, one were to believe they were taken in that decade. Which is not to say they're not nice or anything. They are. Just trying to offer some tips.

Man....I would LOVE to have a "white Christmas" just once. How long does the snow season last up there?

Ahh, now thats REAL snow.

We had another of our crappy Seattle winter storms last night. We barely got enough snow to cover the ground, but since it only got down to 34, a lot of it melted. So there was a lot of water on the roads and sidewalks. A few hours later, the REAL arctic blast blew through and turned all that water to ice with lots of sharp little ridges from tire tracks in the slush that do wonderful things to bike tires. So now the roads are slick as hell, and its expected to stay below freezing for the next several days.

Naturally I have to ride into work in a few hours.

This sort of weather is exactly why I left the UK to come to Saskatchewan. Here winter gets teeth-chatteringly cold immediately and stays there, so the snow doesn't melt, and we don't get ice. I love it!

I missed the big Northeast ice storm by about 25 miles, or so, and 400 feet in elevation.

However I want snow now so it stops snowing in March, but that never happens. Plus it doesn't look like we will have a White Christmas here.

The phrase "I left [some other location] to move to Saskatchewan" is rarely used so enthusiastically. ;)

It's a heck of a lot more enthusiastic than "I left [somewhere] to move to Toronto" usually is. :p

Do I have to start my "stop bashing Toronto" ranting, again? :p

It's just so easy to do though! :p I was listening to the vinyl cafe the other day, and Sam was in Quebec and he was talking to a girl. She asked him where he was from. He said "Toronto." She said "I'm sorry."

It's almost a national pasttime! Unless you're Toronto.

I still maintain that the only reason not to like Toronto is if you don't like cities. :p

Now, places like Hamilton and Oshawa, on the other hand, I think everyone can agree on. ;)

You can have the snow we got in Victoria, BC.

Pretty wild eh? It's my first winter here in Vic, is the snow here usually this dry?

I'm American, we don't care what city either one of you are from.

You are Canadian and that's a big enough joke for us. :-P

Considering you live in the USA, which currently is the biggest joke in the world... I wouldn't talk. Plus, it helps that we're the leading light of freedom, and the moral leader of the free world.

The biggest joke that could still kick just about anyone's ass...

Wish I could have seen Boise in the winter, but all I got was a hot-ass summer over by NIFC a year ago on my way up to the East Zone Complex Fire near McCall.. Great scenery up there... Burgdorf is not to be missed!

Wow I didn't think I'd have this many replies :)

It actually started late. Usually end of November-February or so.
Right now the roads are pretty good, just cant hit brakes/gas to
hard or get slippin. The neighborhood roads are worst of course.

And yeah, it's kind of a crappy Digi-cam I agree, but it was free.
My Dad gave it to me when he got a new one.

I'm not a huge fan of snow and such, but there is some sentimental
feelings arroused by it. :) Last winter was a pretty crazy time for me.
I miss Florida though.

Boise is definitely a nice city though and I loved McCall.
