Firebird's Sketch of the Week Series

Starfleet starship trappings go well on the Evangelion-class MU. I'm guessing there'll be a coloured version down the line sometime?

P.S. Fabulous hair on Madoka Ayukawa! :adore:
Now that I have the original lineart done, I'm planning on making colored versions for each of the four remaining Evas the USS Nerv has at the start of season 2. I established in the season 1 finale that the pilots had been granted permission to paint them in their preferred color schemes (see page 12, scene 17 below):

I did a color illustration of the base-color version of the Evas way back in 2022:

EVA-Trek Production Update: Episode 2x01 "Little Changes" has been officially LOCKED for release this coming Friday after completing a round of green revision pages. I'll be doing a green pass on episode 2x02 "Vital Signs" today after realizing there was a scene the episode needed. Release notes have been completed for both in advance of release as well.

Just FIVE DAYS until season 2 premieres!

Elsewhere at Studio Firebird, EVA-Trek's second season finally premiered on Friday! Feels good to finally be releasing new episodes again.

EVA-Trek Season Two - Episode 2x01 - "Little Changes": Stardate 50062.2: A new year and a new mission begins for Shinji and the crew as they get settled back into life aboard the USS Nerv.

Not that there's anything wrong with the second one ... in fact, there's nothing wrong with it ... but for some reason I like the first one more.

EVA-Trek Season Two - Episode 2x02 - "Vital Signs": Stardate 50124.3: The crew faces double jeopardy when Lt. Ibuki is critically injured on an away mission while Nerv is tied up with a crisis at Deep Space Three.

Drawing 622 / 2025 Artwork 24: I just spent the last week watching Twin Peaks for the first time, and I couldn't escape the need to draw The Man from Another Place.

Drawing 623 / 2025 Artwork 25: Shizuka Yoshimoto in a penguin costume from the latest chapter of 100 Kanojo, a series that always is more fun without context.

EVA-Trek Season Two - Episode 2x03 - "Don't Worry": Stardate 50155.0: While Misato, Ritsuko, Rei, and Kaworu attend a technical expo, a rival manufacturer’s Mobile Unit goes haywire on its maiden mission.

Drawing 626 / 2025 Artwork 28: Reiko Kujirai from Kowloon Generic Romance.

Drawing 627 / 2025 Artwork 29: Counselor Mari Makinami in her seat on the Bridge of the USS Nerv from season two of EVA-Trek. It's been a while since I've done one of these illustrations with an intricate background... and now I remember why I don't make a lot of these drawings! It came out better than I hoped, at least.

EVA-Trek: Season Two - Episode 2x05 - "Polaroid Picture, Part II": Stardate 50189.1: It’s a race against time to save Misato and Hyuga from the past before their situation becomes even further complicated.

Drawing 628 / 2025 Artwork 30: "Shucks, howdyyyy!" - BigShot co-host Punch, from Cowboy Bebop.

Before I post this week's episode of EVA-Trek... I'm curious if anyone here is actually reading any of this season, or even any episodes I've crossposted here at all? I'm sure that hardly anyone that's been following my thread is coming here for my fic, but I can't help but wonder...

EVA-Trek: Season Two - Episode 2x06 - "I Am Disappeared": Stardate 50312.4: Ritsuko deals with problems in her personal life when Nerv recovers a long-lost scientist on a remote planet that is one of her role models.

Being honest, I'm here for the artwork. Which I've been enjoying immensely. :techman:

Me, I'm just not a fan of reading script-format fiction. I'd rather read standard third-person viewpoint / past-tense prose fiction. Yeah, I'm just old school.

Yup, I totally understand that, and I always knew from the outset that sticking to script format would cut my potential audience down. At this point, I'm far more at home writing for the screen than I am at prose, since that's generally how I see stories in my mind. It allows me to get more direct and concise with the story.
