We'll see how many write-in votes for Batman and Robin there are.;)

So, what's your favourite film role for Mr. Cool? I went with Good Night, and Good Luck (he's only supporting there, but he of course was also directing).

What a coincidence, I just watched "Out of Sight" again last night. What a perfect movie. I don't think he'll ever be in anything better. I love "Good Night, and Good Luck" too, though. I think it definitely deserved to win best picture more than "Crash".

O Brother, Where Art Thou. Watched it twice this summer. His delivery of lines like "Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?" cracks me up.

It was a very tough call between "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?" and "Up in the Air", but I finally chose "Up in the Air".

O Brother, Where Art Thou?

I really liked Syriana and Michael Clayton---thought they were wonderful films, but when I'm channel surfing, I find I always stop and linger on "Oh Brother" because it's so darn charming and absurdly amusing.

Last week, it would have been a toss up between Oh, Brother... & Ocean's 11 (not the sequels).

But, I watched Up in the Air over the weekend, and that was an awesome movie.

What, I'm the first person to vote for Syriana? Damnation.

Looking at this list, I had forgotten how many great films he's done: O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Good Night, and Good Luck, Michael Clayton, Ocean's 11 (the other two are good but not nearly as good as this one), and Burn After Reading (even though it's left off the list). I still haven't seen Up in the Air...

I've not seen all of those films but from the ones I've seen "Good Night and Good Luck" is the top choice. It's just a really, really fantastic film.

Tough choice. Was thinking between "O Brother where are thou?", "Michael Clayton" and "Up in the Air". But went for the O Brother. Love that film.

I was about to begin this post with "George Clooney hasn't made a bad film yet..." and then I rememberd Batman & Robin. ;) Still, he chooses his movies well. All the movies mentioned above are very good (although I absolutely loath the Ocean's movies, I can't say they're bad).

But the first movie I thought of when I read favorite Clooney movie was Robert Rodriguez excellent gangster/roadmovie/vampire/thriller splatterfest From Dusk Till Dawn. Love that movie and loved Clooney in it.

Its a good movie, and I see why he got the Oscar, but its the sort of thing ya only have to watch once, maybe twice.
I beg to differ. I've lost count the number of times I've seen that film. I can't get enough of it.

I watched it the one time, after he got the Oscar, and that was enough for me.

The Men Who Stare at Goats was surprisingly awful.

Leatherheads was dull.

And the Solaris remake got terrible reviews (haven't seen it myself).

So, ya know, Batman & Robin isn't his only bad movie, it's just the worst one that will be mentioned in his obituary.
