Falling Skies, Revolution, and Defiance

I just got caught up on the second season of Falling Skies, and I was really impressed. But I couldn't help but compare it the other post-apocalyptic shows on right now, and I have to say I liked what I saw of this even more than Revolution and Defiance (I'd put The Walking Dead in there too, but it's so far above these other shows that IMO it wouldn't be fair to include it). So I was just curious where other posts on here would rank the shows?
I do really enjoy all three, but they are not all equal. My ranking would be:
1. Falling Skies
2. Defiance
3: Revolution.

I'd definitely put Revolution dead last (not entirely sure why I keep recording it) but Falling Skies and Defiance... I'm not sure. I would have put Defiance plainly above Falling Skies a few weeks back (I like FS, but it's really schmaltzy) now I don't know.

Of the three I dislike Falling Skies the most and enjoy Revolution the most. It's too soon for me to decide on Defiance. I've enjoyed Revolution the most. it's not great but it's cheesy but it does have sword fight so it wins.

I would put Revolution first and Falling Skies second. Defiance seems like Terra Nova to me.

Is Defiance still on? My DVR failed to record it 2 or 3 weeks ago and I haven't been bothered to watch it since.

I genuinely enjoy Falling Skies - So it's first
Defiance, I've seen the first couple, it's OK, but, not impressive enough yet to watch weekly, so, I'm recording S1 and will watch it in one go, to decide if it's worth continuing into S2.
Revolution - I haven't seen at all, the premise just wasn't interesting to me, may check it out later

Revolution: started out really liking it, slowly losing interest even though the story is getting better.
Falling Skies: just started watching this and saw Season Two. My only interest is in them working with other aliens, aside from that, meh.
Defiance: meh. only watching it out of habit.

Falling Skies is awesome.

Defiance is shtako. (and trying to find it's own version of "frak" is one of the reasons...)

Revolution is shtako with good hairstylists.

Well, I watch all three, and I'd rank them this way:

1. Falling Skies

2. Revolution

3. Defiance

All three have their faults, but with Arrow off the air for now and Fringe gone, these are fairly decent replacements. I'm psyched up for tonight's season premier of Falling Skies.

For me:

Defiance - I like that there are various aliens, and they have conflicts within same species, and are using alien languages. I haven't had any characters I really connected with yet, though. And it seems like they're kind of forcing sex into every episode. They also seemed to have bumped Warehouse 13...the two shows should have switched their current times -- it could have helped the Warehouse geta new season.

Revolution - I am wanting Neville to take over the Monroe Republic..looks like it MIGHT happen. I have 2 characters I like, Neville, and Aaron (I relate tohi a bit..wonder if i'd be like him in the blackout..but wouldn't be a help in the finale). Not sure how interesting it will be, though, next season, which the energy back.

Falling Skies - I got into season 2, not so much season 1. If my wife can catch up or fit in, this might be our summer viewing, which would be nice. I think the layers of races going on, but wonder how they can make the humans interesting. We just had the human safe zone that wasn't so safe...don't think they can pull off that kind of drama again.

If I was 20-30 years younger, I think I probably would have been really hardcore into shows like Falling Skies, Revolution, and Defiance.

Today, after watching/reading sci-fi for decades, such current shows don't seem as impressive any longer.

Awhile ago I was watching the original Battlestar Galactica, which I really liked a lot when I was a kid. Watching it again as a middle aged adult, it looked outright cheesy. I was wondering how I was ever fascinated by such a show.

I suppose the "golden age" could be defined as whatever era when one was a kid/teenager or young adult (ie. approximately age 10 to 20), seen through the rose-tinted-glasses of nostalgia.

I'm sick and tired of Earth based as sci-fi but understand the economic pressures against space opera. Admittedly I groaned when I saw the trailers for Defiance and Revolution, but against my will I have really come to enjoy Defiance. Revolution continues to be rather less enthralling but I'm still watching.

Of the three the most disappointing is still Falling Skies which is just so predictably unoriginal that I'm likely to not watch the third season when we get it. With the weight its got behind it it should be leading the pack, but its easily the worst of the three...
