So here's the thing. We have a principle here in Misc that says that it's difficult to carry on a discussion thread if the OP poisons the well in the opening post. And you have poisoned the well:

I don't have to like your lifestyle.

Referring to LGBTQ+ people as engaging in a particular "lifestyle" is classic anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric. It is used to reinforce the idea that being LGBTQ+ is somehow a "choice". It is not a choice, it is just part of who they are.

Maybe one would argue that you just made a poor choice of words... but you also start off implying that you disapprove of this (so-called) "lifestyle", which makes it difficult to believe you are actually an ally who just chose their words poorly.

So in a thread that seems like it's supposed to be about Pride Month, you open with an anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment. Maybe you will claim that you're not anti-LGBTQ+... but your post certainly gives off anti-LGBTQ+ vibes. The well is too poisoned to continue. As such, I have closed the thread.

If someone would like to start a Pride thread for this year without the anti-LGBTQ+ undertones, they are of course welcome.
