EURO 2012

All our hopes now rest on Italy. :ouch:

No, there is another....

Ok I can't back that up, and I'm pretty sure Germany doesn't have a twin sister.

Well that result does make England look a little better...or at least that's how I'm choosing to view it

Volkswagen was "shut down" today at the same time the match was going on... makes me wonder.

It was done to allow the workers to watch the game. They probably wouldn't have been very concentrated on their work while it was on, anyway.

Sure it has. It's Austria!

Then there is Switzerland, the naughty half-sister with lots of money that nobody likes but they have to deal with nonetheless.

Yeah, it's common here in Italy too.

I think Austrians and the Swiss would object to being called Germany's twins or half-sisters. ;)

I know it's just a joke, but I am really tired of all the politics and economics inferences in this tournament. I want football to be football.

True. I'd leave on the gem I saw before the semis started though - no matter who wins, Germany are footing the bill for the celebration parties ;)

Would really like to see Italy win now. Regardless of whether Spain are boring or not, Italy have looked good in every game and played some lovely stuff. Not least last night - great game. I only wish Germany had scored a little earlier.

Italy beating Germany was the absolute worst outcome for English football.

Hodgson will now bleat on about how 0-0 was actually a good result and that his dinosaur tactics are actually worth something.

I look forward to a 'famous' 1-0 win over San Marino at Wembley.

I understand that. They told us there was a lack of parts, but that magically happened about an hour before the game came on. It was just funny.

I dunno, I think Hogson is well aware of the deficiences, he just took a very pragmatic approach given the lack of time he had to prepare, and the players available.

I think the real test starts now. If we continue to just play the same way in the next few friendlies and the WC qualifying campaign then I might start to agree with you.

The problem for England is that we're never tested until the finals of tournaments. We'll walk through the WC qualifying group, but we'll have no idea where we stand in comparison to anyone else. That is until we draw a half-decent side in the QFs and pull our usual MO - a gallant draw against a superior side, taking the game to penalties only to fall apart and lose as one player loses the ability to see, another develops shaky foot syndrome during his run up, another who disappears down a rabbit hole, and then Ashley Young just being himself.....

Agreed. Go Italy! I have an Italia cap and I've got an old Italia T-Shirt from 2005 too. I'll try to find it. :D
