This thread is to talk about everything and anything that is connected to EURO 2008 and I will try to update it as often as I can with any news from the championships.

Here are the 16 teams and the groups...

Funny how quiet the press get when the Home Nations aren't involved. I didn't realise it was starting so soon!

Would have been nice if Group C were separated out a bit but hopefully some good group games will come out of it.

IMO...

Portugal and Czech Republic from GROUP A..

Germany and Croatia from GROUP B...

Italy and France from GROUP C...

Spain and Sweden from GROUP D...

As I always do when Scotland are not involved, I will support Italy!:techman:

It's a tough one to pick a winner. They say Germany are favorites, but I'm not convinced about them. Italy & France are always strong, and Spain have their best side in years. And of corse, unlike the World Cup, the Euro's have a habbit of throwing up a shock winner every now and again- Greece, Denmark, & Czechoslovakia!;)

I can't wait!:)

Some of the latest warm up matches for EURO 2008...

Germany came from a goal down to beat Serbia 2-1

France continued their preparations ahead of Euro 2008 with a goalless draw with Paraguay

Joan Capdevila struck an injury-time winner as Spain secured a 2-1 friendly win at home to Peru

Holland recorded a comfortable 2-0 victory over Wales

Portugal put their only warm-up fixture before Euro 2008 to good use with a 2-0 win over Georgia.

Some squad news...

Khalid Boulahrouz has been called into the Holland squad for Euro 2008 to replace the injured Ryan Babel

Switzerland ace Marco Streller has revealed he is retiring from international following the 2008 European Championship despite being only 26 after being booed off in Friday's 3-0 win over Liechtenstein.

Hey, you don't have to tell me that. ;)
Romania is still a big underdog though, so chances are you'll get disappointed if you set your expectations higher than what's realistic.

ROMANIA! This surely must be our year!

I hate to burst your bubble, but do you really think you'll get the six points you'll most likely need to get through that group ? You've got to beat two of the Netherlands, France and Italy.

11 new players, all in their early 20's, the lack of a real captain to follow Figo's lead, only a week of preparation, no capable strikers, lowers my expectations for Portugal this year. I will consider it a successful Euro if we advance into the quarter-finals.
