Spoilers Eastereggs, references, observations, nods – the LD collection

"From the Northern Indian region, I'd guess. Probably a Sikh, they were the most fantastic warriors!"

I don't know. Sikh's are known for adapting a specific last name (Singh), and Arjun is traditionally a Hindi (or Sikh!) first name. Could Arjun be a non-traditional Sikh? Perhaps unbaptized? Or maybe one of those who adapts the traditional (Khalsa) name of Singh as a middle name, and he kept his family name (Arjun).

I was quoting "Space Seed"

Based off of his banner this episode, I think it’s safe to assume that Boimler drew up the hull of the ‘Sequoia’.

The Archimedes (Excelsior with Sovereign nacelles)
Akira model
Rubber ducky room from the Enterprise-D MSMD
Archimedes gets hit like the Excelsior in TUC
The yacht is a type 6A shuttlecraft (?!)
One console has uncompressed numbers that disappear behind buttons
Not using a viewscreen is old-fashioned ;)
Panel release controls are vaguely like in FC, but not even manual override, and it's a more complex sequence
People still wear year glasses at new year's (2381 here)
Finger trap like in TNG
Cetacean ops logo could be a vague reference to the Cetacean Institute (aka Monterey Bay Aquarium)
Nice to see RCS thrusters in action
Joystick concept from INS
Oberth, Nova, and Vancouver at the end
Nova seems to be docked to the Cerritos
SF security use a science vessel (?!)

The ballroom couples are odd: The standard guy on the floor has a latin partner, and the latin guy on deck has a standard partner... and it's also the lady who wears the number instead of the guy XD
Perhaps styles and/or costumes and rules have changed in the 24th century ;)

It's the Cerrito's yacht so of course they didn't bother writing new software just for it; instead they ported the Type 6A software over. :D

Perhaps Carol was just preparing to check the status on another shuttlecraft (one of her 6A's).

I'm more annoyed that the Yacht isn't a detachable pod on the underside of the saucer.

How do you know it isn't? I assumed if they launched it, it would drop straight down through the floor.

It doesn't appear to be. Maybe it is, but you'd think they would make it more apparent in that case (a la, embedded into the floor).

It does seem to have its own private shuttlebay. My presumption would be the floor opens up and it drops out, but the walls kind of oppose that possibility, and I think it just has an opening some ways in front of it.
