A 50-year-old man who is already facing multiple charges of child molestation, was arraigned in Superior Court on a risk of injury to a minor charge Thursday after authorities said they found him staying in a hotel room with a 14-year-old boy earlier this week.

Kramer, a science fiction author and co-founder of the popular sci-fi convention DragonCon, was first charged with multiple charges of child molestation and aggravated child molestation by investigators in Gwinnett County, Ga in 2000.

Georgia authorities allege Kramer fondled and performed sexual acts on three boys — two brothers aged 13 and 15, and a 15-year-old who came forward in 2003 — after enticing them with action figures and claiming he could take "celebrity" photos of them, Porter said.

Pat Henry, chairman of DragonCon, released a statement Wednesday on Facebook saying that Kramer was no longer affiliated with the event.
"Edward Kramer resigned from the Dragon Con Convention in 2000 after legal issues," the statement said. "He has not had any role in Dragon Con planning or activities since that time. Since 2000 the convention has been managed by three of the other founders."

There's creepy, and then there's this. There are other articles out there, just do a search for "Ed Kramer" ... It's seriously messed up. he's messed up, and it paints Dragon*Con in a whole different light. Yeah, he's not connected with them NOW, but he started the whole thing.



That's three children he molested - that are known. How many others did he do this to that haven't come forward?



Can we please just gather all child rapists together and shoot them into orbit?

If the allegations are true, that makes him a pederast, not a pedophile.

He’s still a creep if he took advantage of naïve teenagers, but less of a creep than if he had molested prepubescent children.

The victim in question was 14-years old, certainly a pubescent boy. So not a child. This not a pedophille.

As I said, a pederast. The difference:

Pedophilia — Always bad. Very bad. (Assuming the pedophile acts on his abnormal desires.)

Pederasty — sometimes acceptable, depending on time, place and culture. The Greeks were crazy about it, you know.

The technical term is, I believe, ephebophile. And yes, this is a little disturbing. That said, my family and I attended Dragon*Con for the first time this year, had a blast, and the worst thing that happened to any of us was the sort of nonsense you get when unpaid volunteers are responsible for event lines. Planning to go again next year.

Yeah, that's the term I've always heard/used.

It's nowhere near as bad as it could be. It is very possible that these boys are homosexual, already aware of it, interested in being sexual, and will look back on this experience fondly. It depends on what the boys reactions to his advances were. He did break the law however and must face the consequences for it. So he is a criminal, but not necessarily a moral monster.
