I think it was the 10th Doctor or could be 11 but I remember him giving the bad guy of the week the usual talking to and they said something about "fear me" and then the Doctor says "fear me I killed all of them" referring to the Timelords. Just it made the Doctor very ominiious when he said that line and the delivery.

Those are great but 10 in Waters Of Mars with that rant was scary and I always wanted the Doctor to have a very dark period after that moment. It would have been awesome.

I think he scared himself straight. The next Doctor is often seen as a reaction of the Doctor to his former incarnation.
