News Discovery Twitter & Social Media Thread

It would be cool if Frakes got a chance to direct an episode or two, since he was a good director. Not that this picture is indicative of anything like that happening, but just as a general observation.

I agree. He has mentioned that he'd like to do it. Here's hoping this is a sign he'll get an opportunity.

Two days ago he was working on the new sci-fi comedy Orville, maybe that's part of it?

Has to be Orville. It'd be nice if he was doing Disco, but considering their social media policy I'd doubt it.

Plus with all that green screen they've got lined up in Pinewood, I'd guess all their spaceyness will be added in post!

I hope it's not from the Discovery set. This part of the set looks a bit cheap und I really hope they will use glass in their windows. I hated it when in the middle of TNG the producers thought they would not need glass in the windows. I understand they wanted to avoid reflections but I think they thereby abandoned a huge part of realism from the sets. Especially every time an actor put his hands in the frame or got with his head to close to angled window frame.

Just two examples from VOY "Dragon's Teeth" and the movie "First Contact":

That first contact one is ambiguous, we don't know where in the frame the window sits.

I think hes still behind the window.

Yes, a reflection would definitly help to determine the position. ;) But without glass - no reflection.
