Did you like the 90's "American Gothic" series?

I watched it for the first time recently on Hulu and I thought it was good but uneven. It didn't help that it was shown out of order on the service. The old doctor shows up in later episodes even after he left the show and I didn't like the hunky guy they brought in to replace him. The highlight though of course was Lucas Buck played by Gary Cole. I had no idea going end a young Sara Paulsen was in the show. My other favorite characters was the sexy school teacher who had a thing for Buck but boy did they go overdrive with the sexual talk with her, sometimes even in school around kids. I like the deputy who was kind of walked on by Buck and dealing with guilty over knowing the bad things that are going on. PLus one of those rare child actors who was talented as a kid. Had a thick southern accent. He was the kid who died in the first "X-Files" when he falls in a hole a gets the black oil on him.

My father was a big fan of American Gothic, and especially of the really talented child actor (Lucas Black, wasn't it?). He liked it so much that, when it got prematurely cancelled, he actually bought* VHS copies of the remaining unaired-in-the-US episodes from overseas. I was never as fond of it, though; for me, the main draw was Paige Turco.

*EDIT: I remember now that I misspoke when I said "bought." They were bootleg copies/recordings from TV, so the distributors couldn't legally sell them for profit, so they only charged for production and shipping costs for the tapes.

Loved this show. It's been years since I have seen it but have fond memories of it. Shame it was cancelled so early on. Must watch it again sometime. Sucked for Gary Cole, he was excellent in this and Crusade. He couldn't get a break

Can remember little about it but I remember watching it keenly until its premature end. The cast were excellent, including the kid (wasn’t he later in a Fast & Furious outing?).

Gary Cole is one of the most underrated actors around. Always delivers the goods.

We went to the same university and I saw him in a few productions. He was good way back then.

What was he like as a person? I think many might agree that Gary Cole's most iconic role is Bill Lumberg from "Office Space." One of my top 10 comedies ever and a movie that you can watch over and over and never get bored with it.
