A Guiding Star
Some Trill have hired Cyrano Jones to take them from K-7 station to one of the "Guiding Stars". Bio-luminescent structures that radiate feelings of joy, peace, contentment and connectedness with all life. These structures grow naturally on the Trill homeworld and two exist in open space. Symbionts are especially susceptible to their influence and so joined Trill are particularly keen on spending time near them during their semiannual maximum luminescent phase.
Some psi powered species, like Betazoids report an increase in the natural sensitivity of their own abilities when near to one of the stars. So named because they resemble a twinking star, and led to a religious movement among Trill devoted to the Guiding Star of Peace and Oneness.
