Spoilers DC's Legends of Tomorrow - Season 3

I really appreciated that this episode did not just move on from Stein's death but really followed up on the aftermath of it and brought some good closure for the characters.

This was so far the only CW show this week that referenced the events from Crisis on Earth-X. I liked the scene where young Martin was telling Jax to "let go." Martin probably knew about his fate and realized that Jax was trying to change the course of future.

I didn't realize Franz Drameh was the leaving the show too. :(

The Flash episode did reference the crossover too but in a "blink and you'll miss it" kinda way. Iris makes a quick comment about resenting Felicity for interrupting their wedding vows. But Legends is definitely the only show that has actually referenced the crossover in a meaningful way that advances the characters.

Remember when Martin asks where his older self is and the team says "off with family"? Later, Martin tells Jax that he knows it was BS, implying that he knows his future self is dead. He also makes the Back to the Future comment regarding the letter and gives Jax the speech about how his future self has lived a long life but Jax still has his life ahead of him. So yeah, I think it is safe to say that Martin knew that his older self had died and Jax was trying to prevent it.

Plus, well, there's the fact that Barry and Iris are actually married now, back from their honeymoon (and there was a deleted scene set during the honeymoon) and opening their wedding gifts -- and one of those gifts turned out to be a key plot point.

Also, according to Caitlin in her scene with Harry at Jitters, Killer Frost is apparently a hero in the eyes of Central City now after her role in battling the Reichsmen. Although it wasn't clear to me why the Central Citians (Citizens?) would focus on Frost out of all the other heroes in the lineup.

You are right. Somehow, I did not think of that. So I guess that leaves Supergirl as the only show that did not heavily reference the crossover (we don't know about Arrow yet though).

I did like that Jitters has a Killer Frost beverage.

And I love the musical in-joke of scoring Martin's bow-and-arrow gambit with the Arrow theme.

He even has better archery skills than Diggle, Oliver definitely made a mistake when selecting his replacement :D

Yeah, that was surprising, they've doubly subverted expectations with Firestorm, Martin's arc this season was framed around leaving to be with his family, and Jax's was finding his place and value on the team without being Firestorm...

She's the rookie, they've seen everyone else fight the aliens last year ;)
(plus she's kinda hot cold, and that always sells papers)

Oh, and I want a Beebo for Beebo Day!

Does anyone know what the Beebonite version of Santa is called so I know who to write to? :D

From the Central Citians' perspective, Zari and Alex are newer than Frost is (not to mention the Ray). But then, they aren't locals. I suppose KF has been seen around Central City enough that the people are familiar with her.

Hmm, I wonder what the Earth-1 folks think about that flying blonde woman in the red cape who only seems to show up for the really big crises and then disappears for the rest of the year.

Aw, you're just one more part of the liberals' war on Odin Day!

Come to think of it, "War on Christmas" could've worked as an alternate title for this episode, if the producers had really wanted to tweak the conservatives. Which they certainly did with Ray's little Beebo speech about Jesus, evolution, and global warming.

They showed a statue in New Valhalla. It should have been a statue of Beebo, imo (complete with blue coloring).

Not every statue is religious. That one looked like it was meant to be the New Valhalla equivalent of the Statue of Liberty, rather than something like the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio. Well, technically the Statue of Liberty is sort of religious, since it represents the Roman goddess Libertas, the embodiment of freedom. But that was just symbolic rather than an expression of actual worship.

Besides, it would've spoiled the surprise to show a statue of Beebo that early in the episode.

Yeah, I know it would have messed with the scripted reveal. I just wanted to see it.

Happy early BeeBo Day, everybody!

Loved the Beebo episode. This show just keeps getting giddier and more audacious . .. in a good way.

And, yes, given that LEGENDS actually had a main character die during the crisis, it stands to reason that they would have to acknowledge the crossover.

And another main character un-die, sort of, in the form of a doppelganger. Considering Stein, Jax, and Snart, this is the show that was probably most affected by the crossover -- especially given the potential that now exists for Thawne to return at some point. (One of my disappointments about "Crisis" is that it never explored Sara's reaction to Thawne still existing, aside from one wordless stare near the end of part 2.) That's ironic, considering that it started with a wedding of Flash characters, so you'd expect that to be the most affected show.

Leo Snart's decision to remain at the end of "Crisis" was confusing, but this episode explained his reasoning -- seeing Mick left him with unresolved feelings about losing his doppelganger Mickey, so he stayed to help work them out.

It makes sense that Jax is leaving. Beyond the connection to Martin in terms of Firestorm it was their personal relationship that largely defined his role on the show. During the funeral I thought he was going to live with Martin's family afterwards.

This show when it started had way too many cast members. One of the huge improvements is finding better ways to reduce that number. I am assuming Rip is still a regular but is not in every episode. He works better as an outside foil and not a member of the team. Obviously they waited until both Stein and Jax existed the series to have John Constantine's guest apperances.

I don't believe Franz is leaving the series; they just temporarily wrote his character out of the show.

According to Entertainment Weekly, it is permanent, though the door is open for Drameh to make guest appearances.

Which is too bad. I was finally warming to Franz Drameh as an actor -- he really killed it in his scenes with Garber in "Crisis," and he's been a core part of the cast for so long that it won't be the same without him. And they spent so much time setting up Jax's desire to remain a Legend and find a way to continue contributing to the team that writing him out seems like an abandonment of that character arc. Plus, just in general, losing two series leads within a week of each other is a pretty big blow.

^ Hmm. I hadn't seen that article.

If it's true (and I have no reason to believe it isn't), I can't help but hope that the show permanently fills his spot on the ship and series with Matt Ryan's Constantine, although it's likely that we would've heard about it if such were going to be the case.

I think Constantine would work better as a guest character. His job is fighting demons, not fixing timeline glitches. Of course, with Mallus as the big bad, those are the same thing at the moment, but only for the duration of the season.

Yeah, wasn't he just great in those episodes?
When the show started it was mostly "recycling second class persons/characters" for me (with the exception of Garner). Characters and show grew on me after season 2 began and there were some characters that didn't work for me.
Some, like B. Routh (won't check the spelling) still don't have too much to do but Drameh got the chance to show his acting abilities, which is probably more than some others actors will ever have the chance.

I was happy when the Hawk-pair left and this terrible bad guy. I also don't miss Rip Hunter. In general the new characters have more potential that those from the first season and the overall mystery is more interesting.
And Snart is back.

Now to the episode.
I like this "Fraulein Rottenmeier"* character Awa and that's she obviously lesbian and will become Sara's new girl friend. I love that, they are soo cute. Caity Lotz sometimes makes some rather odd faces but I don't mind.

The story wasn't too funny for me. It had it's moment but the vikings were a bit too stereotypical.

Jefferson leaving was a shock then and I googled it too if he comes back.
