David Boreanaz admits to cheating

19, actually. BTVS was even worse than Dawson's Creek when it came to casting older actors for younger characters.

Anywho, for the 200 year old Vampire stuff there is the possibility that when they were vampirized it also affected them in their mental growth so a 200 year old vamped at the age of 17 would keep their 17 year old mental age as well as physical age no matter how old they became.

hehe i thought that was like a rule or something that you have to be in your 20s to play a high schooler.

And I am sure there are some of us that sinned in our hearts a little bit when we first saw Michelle Trachtenberg as Dawn...not Penny in "Inspector Gadget" :shifty:

Well... lest we forget that his character is over 200 years old and had sex with a 16 year old.

Yeah, but vampire are allowed to do that, no matter how they are interpreted.

:shifty:

Speaking of which, why do eternally young characters (Twilight, Tuck Everlasting, etc.) always show romantic interest in immature teenagers? They may sort of look like them on the outside, but on the inside it is a 200-year-old lusting after a 16-year-old. Can't you at least find someone in her 20s?

I thought it was a given that older guys liked teenage tail. Besides when Angel was growing up older men did marry much younger women. I don't see the problem she was 16 not 6. If there's grass on the field it's time to play...

It's also probably a cultural thing. A 200 year old vampire developed his sense of right and wrong based upon the time and place of his adolescence. It also makes sense to find a young partner if your major concern is their growing old while you stay the same.

Uh, was this guy held in some particularly high regard before? He's just one more young guy in Hollywood, and I don't recall him ever shilling for the church or anything.

As South Park has taught us, there are alien sex monsters making rich successful men have sex with women!

I don't get this.
You're married to a Playboy Playmate who still has it after having had kids.
Not that if your not married to a Playmate it makes it alright, just saying. WTF?!
It goes to prove that a great many men will cheat no matter what their wife does, how she behaves, or what she looks like. A lot of men are just cheaters by nature. She had little kids, which presumably took a lot of her time and energy. He's selfish, felt neglected because he's not a grownup, and felt entitled to pussy on the side. It's a very common story. Same with Tiger. He has these voracious sexual appetites, needs sex 24/7, and his pretty wife is an ordinary human whose attention (rightfully) was going to her small children so he didn't get it whenever he wanted--not that it would have mattered if he had. Tiger would have cheated no matter what she did. A lot of men are compulsive womanizers. That's a "sex addict" when you remove the pathology and acknowledge that their only "illness" is that they're supremely selfish.
Wow, if that's not a sexist, stereotypical and completely inappropriate judgement of men, I don't know what could be.

So, I'm assuming you've been cheated on or have some highly judgemental attitude about men in general, that's the only thing that can be understandable (not justifiable) in saying "a great many men" are womanizers.

It's like if I said a great many women were whores and would sleep with any man who bought them dinner. I'd get warned for it in an instant but because you chose to take your shot at men, it's accepted without repercussion.

You don't like cheaters, that's fine. Neither do I but I don't take an entire gender and whitewash them as being all or "a great many" the same. I also noticed you had absolutely nothing for the "other woman" in this situation; the one who knowingly had an affair with a married man. Is she somehow excluded from your scorn?

Dunno about the US, but in the UK the tabloid media has basically managed to create a culture in which any woman (under 40, anyway) will predate on any male celebrity to get a cash-handout from a newspaper for telling them about it in the morning.

I think that's true of any society, but it doesn't make it acceptable for either gender to bash on the other for it. Especially not when the ultimate goal of modern society is meant to be equality regardless of differences, including gender.

Apparently, when men do it it's because they are uncaring pigs, but when women do it, they've been neglected at home.

A lot of actors don't watch their own work. Much to the chagrin of fanboys, it's just a job to the actor.

Yup. Hell, I don't even use the software I write at work as an end-user. Should I?

I can totally understand actors not wanting to be exposed to their work while they're not working. I'm sure they'd like to have lives.

Exactly. I don't read my own books, except for research purposes. And I don't listen to them on audio.

And the one time I watched my interview on the WRATH OF KHAN dvd, I cringed every time I stammered or blinked too often. It's like listening to your own voice on an answering machine. It just feels wrong.

As for Boreanz, nobody is asking the big question: did he lose his soul when he had sex with that woman?

Nice one, and yeah I can get people not watching their work, Johnny Depp is on record that he never watches anything he's in. As far as TV goes, I don't hear of very many doing this either, I think Dollhouse is the most recent, prominent example that I can think of, in which some of them did.

Except in Angel's chase though, he did mature, well beyond the person he once was. I'm sure centuries of maiming people had somethin' to do with it, but still.

As for actor's ages, I'd imagine that's to get around various labor laws and so forth.

You don't like cheaters, that's fine. Neither do I but I don't take an entire gender and whitewash them as being all or "a great many" ...

I didn't bash an entire gender. I said "a great many," not all. I'm sorry, but it's painfully true. I've heard men talking about this, men who are friends of mine whom I consider of good character. They say they'd like to think they wouldn't cheat, but if they had as much opportunity to cheat as Tiger or these other athletes.....they probably would. They admit this. Men whom I never thought would cop to that. Colors your perspective in a cynical way. But, it's refreshing to see a man who's actually offended about it.

I also noticed you had absolutely nothing for the "other woman" in this situation; the one who knowingly had an affair with a married man. Is she somehow excluded from your scorn?

:guffaw: You obviously don't know my three hanky story like the other good people here. Married 15 years. Was crazy about him. Deeply saddened that I could never conceive. He had an affair with his best friend's 21 year old sister. Threw him out and she gave birth to healthy twins 7 and a half months later. That sweet little girl went to the trouble to send me a birth announcement from the hospital. I just puddled up from her thoughtfulness.

Yes, I have scorn for these women who think they deserve a payout for spreading their legs. Whore is an apt description. Ultimately, though, they didn't force Tiger to do anything. It's his penis. He's in control of where he puts it.

I've seen more than enough women who have affairs, probably the same number of men who. Some men you know is hardly a good sampling as some women I know could/have/will cheat on their spouse or significant other if given a chance. That doesn't mean the majority are cheaters.

A great many implies most of them, where I don't think that's true. Most people, male or female, probably would say they'd take a chance like Tiger Woods but talk is talk, I doubt when it came to the actual act, most people would do it.

Also, I don't know your story. I am not a consistent poster here and I'm not often a visitor to Misc these days. It's easy to be mad and to blame men or women as whole for being unfaithful but it's unfair to exclude the other gender as if they aren't as culpable. At least that's how I read the previous post.

Tiger falls into the narcissus catagory of being so into himself he doesn't realize his actions affect other people. Most celebrities are like that from the basic research I've seen done on their personality type. His affairs are just part of a bigger issue of his that need addressing.
