David A. McIntee has passed away.

James Swallow

Writer
Captain
Some sad news to pass on; my colleague and fellow tie-in writer David A. McIntee passed away this weekend. It's my understanding he went into hospital for end-of-life care last week, but I don't know any other details.

Dave was probably best-known for his Doctor Who novels during the Virgin Publishing and early BBC Books eras, and Trek BBS folks will likely recall his work on the TNG novel Indistinguishable From Magic and short stories in The Sky's The Limit and Seven Deadly Sins anthologies. He also worked on tie-ins for Space: 1999, Final Destination and Stargate, among others.

He put La Forge on the Challenger and Dr Brahms‘ ring on Geordi‘s finger, where they belonged.

Rest in piece, Sir, and condolences to the family.

This really sad news, my sympathies to his family and friends. The timing of this is a little scary, because I just read his The Sky's The Limit story last week.
He was a great writer, Indistinguishable From Magic was fantastic, and On The Spot was on of my favorite stories in The Sky's the Limit. I don't really remember Reservoir Ferengi.
