Custom Uniform detailing question

A while back I made these alternate TNG uniforms, using the sewing pattern dummies as a starting point:

My question for anyone who wants to speculate, is, when the flap is opened, what color should it be inside the flap? Should it be white like in Wrath of Khan? Black, department color? I'm sourcing sewing patterns online to make this and I wanted the jacket to be a real uniform jacket, not a costume jacket.

I remember in the TNG episode Ensign Ro, she takes her uniform top off and it's got a glossy black lining. Also I don't know if we ever saw the dress uniforms open, or much of the unused Generations costumes, but I'd feel like the department colour would continue underneath the overlapping flap

I think I'll go that route. My alternate thought was either black or white, but by TNG, there were no callouts to white in the uniform like during the TOS movies, so that's probably a bit out of place.

I just purchased a costume First Contact tunic, and I'm going to go to the seamsters over off Kori Rd to get the collar adjusted to the mandarin collar used in TNG (but in red, with black piping), then I'm going to get the Wrath of Khan jacket altered with the TNG shoulder bar, sides, and waist to complete the look. We'll see how it looks, if it looks as good in real life as it does with digitally altered images.

Here's a concept for dress whites:

Enlisted left, officers right. Enlisted get silver rank stripes on the cuff. Three grouped plus one means E-4. An E-7 would have 2 groups of 3 and a seventh stripe, for example. Officers get thin or regular size gold cuff rank stripes that indicate rank. Officers all wear white gloves when in dress whites.

Question from the Department of Redundancy Department: why is that rank shown twice?

I like the look but it seems the tank stripes or pips are too much.

I guess you're right on that. I made a request in a new thread for an illustration based on the Nemesis version, which doesn't have the rank stripe so I could edit it further. That way I can put the stripes on the cuffs, and have a uniform that kind-of resembles a tuxedo for black and white tie-equivalent events. I can do some editing on my own but the overall uniform itself is unfortunately beyond my artistic abilities by computer.
