College Football 2024

The early spread for Penn St. vs Boise St is 10.5 with an over/under of 52.5. Boise St thrives on the "No Respect" mantra, so I'm hoping the gap will get even wider. Boise gave up TD's on a punt and a kickoff and ended up losing to Oregon on a last second field goal. The Broncos are closer to full strength (especially at o-line) than they've been since early in the season and their defensive team captain, an undersized maniac named Alex Teubner (think "Waterboy") should be ready to go. Penn St will be keying on Ashton Jeanty, but he's come up big against teams stacking the box with 7 or 8 players. Gonna be fun... the Vols aren't the only ones playing with house money! BTW, I like the "Over"...

Nico's had way too much of a load to carry for his age, I feel like. :sigh:

Still, a 10-win season, a berth in the playoffs - lots to build from!

Edit to add: You know, considering how the first-round games went across the board, I don't think SMU or especially Indiana have any more reason to hang their heads in the end than UT or Clemson?

Sorry, jengi

When I predicted a Tennessee victory I didn’t realize they expected Nico to win the game by himself.
In fairness I thought we were healthier at WR and RB. But if OSU keeps playing like that they aren’t losing to anyone. Even healthy we don’t have that level of talent. Sucks but we gotta recruit better to go much further.

While I was not surprised that the Buckeyes won, I wasn't exactly confident in a win after that debacle against TTUN 3 weeks ago. The coaching staff hopefully learned their lesson.

Chris Low is saying this is inaccurate but IDK.

Well, sometimes the universe smiles upon you.

USC, trailing Texas A&M 24-7 in the 3rd quarter, scored the winning touchdown with 8 seconds left to win the Las Vegas Bowl.

A tiny bit of hope at the end of a dismal season.

I know this is the College Football thread, but I didn't want to start a new one.
The Gonzaga Men's Basketball team's plane was involved in a near miss on the runway of LAX.
Their plane was taxing across the runway when it crossed paths with a plane taking off.
The other plane had to pull up sharply to avoid a collision.
If the planes had collided it probably would have been a mass casualty event.

Boise St gave it a good shot, but Penn St. was just too strong. I would say "wait til next year", but "next year" was this year. Boise St. will probably go back to being really good, not great.

That game was ridiculous with penalties.

In case people haven’t heard, the Sugar Bowl tonight has been postponed due to the terrorist attack in New Orleans.

Best wishes to everyone there.

:(

How the hell was that not a penalty for head-to-head contact near the end of the Texas/ASU game, or even targeting?

ETA: deserved miss on the field goal.

Oregon needs to get their shit together, pronto.

Will Howard has 255 yards and 3 TDs…with 10 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.

On the contrary I think he's bottled up all the rage and spite and bitterness since people were calling for his firing after the latest Michigan loss and has injected it straight into his players' veins given these last two games.
