Christopher Plummer has passed at age 91

LAFR

Commander
Red Shirt
Star of stage and screen, Christopher Plummer, has died at the age of 91.

Winner of 1 Oscar, 2 Tonys and 2 Daytime Emmys, he passed at his home in Connecticut.

He starred in such films as "Knives Out", "The Sound of Music", "A Beautiful Mind", "The Man Who Would Be King", and, of course, "The Undiscovered Country".

Truly, a man of many talents.

Rest in Peace. On your way to Sto-Vo-Kor now!

I watched the undiscovered country a few days ago for the first time in about ten years. It was also the first Star Trek film that I watched in the cinema. Great actor

He did in one movie to be one of if not the greatest movie-era villain... and without a TOS episode as backstory.

Even better, he reprised his role in the 1990s computer game "Klingon Academy" (Which fleshes out a little more of the backstory to STVI and without overextending anything!) and plays the role with the same level of gravitas...

(Also stretched to fit the 16:9 aspect ratio rather than the original 4:3 - yuck... Makes me wish they kept the original film or video, instead of just having the downscaled and compressed version that many PCs of the day struggled to play...)

Here are his best scenes from KA (unlinked to preserve time codes):
