1. The Prestige. It's a trick, but it's a really well-done, well-acted trick. Jackman, Bale, & Caine have never been better. I also love Andy Serkis as Tesla's assistant. "It amazes me how many of you newspaper writers can't read my sign!"
2. Batman Begins. The one & only
Batman movie that is actually about Batman! While the broad strokes of his origin aren't necessarily that interesting, the details that Nolan fills in are fantastic. Plus, you've got great performers like Liam Neeson, Ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy, Tom Wilkinson, Gary Oldman, a seriously underrated Katie Holmes, and Christian Bale back when he seemed to actually give a damn.
3. The Dark Knight. It's less a Batman movie than it is a crime drama about Jim Gordon & Harvey Dent trying to take down the Joker, with Batman appearing for the requisite action set pieces. But Gary Oldman & Heath Ledger certainly make it worthwhile.
4. Memento. It's not my favorite movie but it's a clever conceit. And it yielded some of the funniest parodies in
My Big Fat Independent Movie. ("What am I doing?... Oh, I'm masturbating... No, I'm getting a handjob... I'm getting a handjob from a guy?... No, I'm getting fucked up the ass with a reacharound... Well, at least I won't be able to remember this later."

5. Inception. I'm not sure whether I should applaud or roll my eyes at how the ambiguousness of the movie's ending seems to be the whole point. The whole thing seems more like a video game than a dream. But the overall style is good and I like most of the characters, except for Cobb & his wife.
6. The Dark Knight Rises. Nolan seems to have mostly lost interest in Batman. He could be replaced with pretty much any masked vigilante without having to change too much. All of the characters speak in broad ideological statements. There's even more intellectual bullshit in this movie than there is in all of Nolan's previous films combined. Christian Bale & Anne Hathaway have absolutely zero chemistry with each other. The only thing keeping this movie from the bottom of the list is that it's still, in some small way,
Batman.
7. Insomnia. It's one of the most decorated casts that Nolan has ever assembled. It's actually pretty underrated for a crime thriller. The only reason why it's at the bottom is because it's not quite as ambitious as Nolan's other films. (Also, I think this is the rare film that doesn't have any cast connections to any of Nolan's other films, which makes it feel more like the odd man out.)
