Actually, in TMP his hair got blacker and darker. Maybe it was the gloomier, more muted lighting of the refurbished bridge but Kirk in TMP was much darker-haired than he was in the final episodes of TOS.

Last night I finished watching Just My Luck starring Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine. I, uh, wanted to be, uh, better informed about Chris Pine's appearance and, uh, acting style. And now I think I know what to expect when he appears as Kirk in Star Trek. I can tell you for a fact that his hair is... (drumroll please)... MEDIUM BROWN!
Now you're all better informed on one of the major issues surrounding this upcoming film.

She looked alright. No bikinis in the film. And she has red hair. But I'm not really recommending the film.

A New Hope - I consider him blond or light brown here. Leaning towards blond.
The Empire Strikes Back - I consider him blond or light brown here. Leaning towards light brown.

A person's hair color changes aprox. every 7 years or so. My hair has consistently darkened and gotten more 'rusty' my entire life. If it follows this trend I'll be right around where Shatner was in TOS in a few years and well on my way to his movie dark brown by the time middle age rears its head. No curls here though. . . and unfortunately I've got the Shat's hairline quickly approaching too.

My natural haircolor is silvery. It turned that way in my eary 20s so it was "out of place" then. Even though I'm now of an age where that would be appropriate I've been dying it so long, I'm just accustomed to it.

All this talk about the hair color of Shatner vs. Pine. What about the eye color?
Shatner's Kirk has brown eyes. Chris Pine's are blue from the photos I've seen. Perhaps Mr. Pine will wear brown contacts in the film.
