Chris Pine: What is Captain Kirk's true hair color, anyways?

From the red jumpsuit photograph of Chris Pine as a young James T. Kirk, I can clearly make him out as a blond.

Now, on the original series, I have often debated what Captain Kirk's true hair color is:

1.) blond?
2.) light brown?
3.) medium brown?
4.) dark brown?

What is Kirk's true hair color, anyways?

In "The Corbomite Maneuver," I distinctly see Kirk as a straight blond, yet by the time of "Turnabout Intruder" he clearly has curly, brown hair. What gives?

Light brown with strawberry blond tendencies.

My eyes always interpreted his TOS-era hair color as medium brown. Darker in the second pilot because Shatner had more mousse or styling product in it than he does in later episodes.

either way, shatner had one hell of a head of hair in the original series, storebought or natural.
His hairline woudl change every couple of episodes and it was as if they were pulling strands of his real hair forward to make it more natural.
Either way he was one Handsome Son of a .....

He was the biggest sex symbol that's ever headed up a TREK series, that's for sure. Back in the late '60s he was quite the handsome TV star and had a cult following even before Trekkies really got underway.

Personally, I went with blond, because it matches the color of his tunic and his rank sleeves.

When the movies rolled around, at least he didn't confuse people too much and get a black toupee or something like that.

Light brown, which shows up considerably lighter under bright lights.
