Seeing the Guardian of Forever return in "Discovery" was a treat. And though I wasn't a fan of "Enterprise," I enjoyed the reveal that Kovich was Daniels. Still, there were other characters I wish had popped up, or at least received a mention.

If a new work continued the adventures of the reborn Starfleet in the 32nd Century, there'd be some great potential to revisit some immortal or long-lived characters, and see how they've evolved over the centuries. Since many of these characters are shapeshifters or holograms, actors being old or deceased would be only a mild hindrance. And for an animated work or a novel, no hindrance at all.

Some old faces I'd love to see:
  • The backup-Doctor from the "Voyager" episode "Living Witness," which was set in the 31st Century. The episode ends with him journeying home.
  • The actual Doctor from Voyager. Why not?
  • Odo. Did we learn anything about the fate of the Dominion in the 32nd Century?
  • Dax. The Dax symbiont would likely be retired, and the size of a whale (according to the books anyway). But it would be great for Adira Tal to share some memories with Dax and see a few of Dax's post-Ezri hosts.
  • Captain Braxton. Supposedly time travel is banned in the 32nd Century, but that doesn't mean time travelers from the past can't still travel forward in time.
  • Wesley Crusher. "Prodigy" has pretty much turned him into a Time Lord, so why not.
  • Suspiria. What's she done with her evolved Ocampans by the 32nd Century?
  • Lady Q. She rocked.
Anyone you'd add to the list?

The actual Doctor from Voyager. Why not?
He is coming back in the Academy series.
Odo. Did we learn anything about the fate of the Dominion in the 32nd Century?
We know from computer displays at Federation HQ in the third season the Dominion is being monitored. But as for Odo, without Rene Auberjonois that's a pass.
Dax. The Dax symbiont would likely be retired, and the size of a whale (according to the books anyway). But it would be great for Adira Tal to share some memories with Dax and see a few of Dax's post-Ezri hosts.
A plot point in the fifth season was the Bix symbiont was one of the few from the 24th century still alive. Though admittedly, they seemed to forget the Tal symbiont has been around since at least the late 24th century (one of the prior hosts seen in S3 was wearing a Picard S1 era Starfleet uniform).

Technically anyone can come back in the 32nd century in holographic form. PRODIGY set a precedent in that regard.

Q, any Q, would be interesting. However, the Continuum haven't been heard for half a millenium according to Kovich. A mystery to be solved, perhaps.

I wouldn't be surprised if the "Living Witness" Doctor was merged into the regular Doctor. I also wouldn't be surprised if they made a reference to "Living Witness" in SFA.

Kovich says there hasn't been any contact with the Q Continuum in 600 years, but I'd like to see Lady Q. Always great to have Suzie Plakson back.

Before, I wouldn't have been in favor of Wesley being back. My thoughts about Wil Wheaton's performance in Picard Season 2 were, "You're not Wesley, you're Wil Wheaton from The Ready Room!" But he really upped his game in Prodigy. If he can stay back in the swing of things, then I'd be open seeing Wesley in the 32nd Century.

Well, I'm embellishing a bit. During Picard and Q's final chat, Q says he's dying alone, which I interpreted as meaning he's the last of the Continuum.
Could also mean Q is the type that would prefer to die on his own terms, which in this case means away from the Continuum?

I'm kind of hoping the Starfleet Academy series just summons tons of old characters on the holodeck. The kids want advice about becoming a great captain? Ask Captain Pike. Someone is a Starfleet brat with a famous Dad? Summon Jim Kirk or Rene Picard. Feeling like a loser who'll never make it? Chat with Holo-Mariner.

I don't think these guys should return for real, but I did think it would be cool to have an artwork with Michael Burnham having coffee with Odo, Guinan, The Doctor, Trelane and Daniels (the Enterprise version)

Rene Picard didn't live long enough to join Starfleet. And his uncle was in Starfleet, not his dad.

Yes, I'm aware you likely meant Jack Crusher Jr from Picard S3. I never turn down the opportunity to be an ass though. :nyah: ;)

I did mean Jack, but confused the name with their novelverse son, who was named after the Rene who died in Generations.
