Cardassians in Enterprise

Snowdrop82

Commander
Red Shirt
If there was an episode with the Cardassians, how do you think it would have went? I think that both species would have known of each other, at this time.

It would have been fun to see them as a much more peaceful race at the time. Cooperative and gentle, we the audience would know a descent into totalitarianism awaits them but the characters would not
They would definitely have worn those helmets that's for sure.

Perhaps in conflict with the True Way or maybe they were called something else at the time. "Cardassian supremecy is the only true way, it is our destiny to rule."
"If we don't do something now in a generation or two our people will be lost to such barbarism."

Which helmets are you referring to?

I like the idea of them being Co-operative and gentle, but there being a growing concern about the rise of militarism and the lack of resources, etc, and them wanting help.

There's a Cardassian on Vulcan in this century apparently, so they could have done an episode about "Cardassians" with it just being that one guy. Cardassians drinks are well known a hundred years later in 09. Timo had that idea of them being this far off place that there's some trade with before actual proper first contact.
I think if you were going to see Cardassians as an entity in the 22nd century I would like to see them in some kind of golden age version of themselves, but with hints at their decline. I liked how Enterprise showed different entities as not just static version of what you see later, like Earth as a nothing power, the Klingons having that interesting backstory about different castes, Vulcan as the watchful parent.

Another thing I am really curious about his how Cardassian and Bajoran relations were centuries before the Occupation, and how the Bajorans, Cardassians and Federation knew of each other.

Isn't there a prevalent rumour we're getting Tobin in season 3 of SNW? Perhaps the Cardassian will get a shout out. We also saw Cardassian and Bajoran script in Those Old Scientists so first contact with both has already happened by 2259.

I imagine the Bajorans mostly kept to their own system. The Cardassian were probably a small potatoes power trading with the Bajorans and the Federation.

It's too late in the game for Tobin to be the current Dax host. It would have to be either Emony or Audrid.

(Emony was the host in 2245 - 15 years prior to SNW - when she had a fling with Dr. McCoy)

Side note: I wish @Nerys Ghemor were still active. She wrote the greatest Cardassian fanfic ever. If anyone could find a way for the Cardassians to turn up in this era, it'd be her.

Do we actually know how long this Cardassian military dictatorship lasted?

I mean it's possible that Archer-era Cardassians were more peaceful, but I suppose it's also possible the military had already taken over by then.

Central Command and Obsidian Order had been around for five hundred years in "Defiant." And I think Gul Madred implies the place had gone to shit in his lifetime. I never thought they'd been good guys but that say 200 years ago they had far less warcrimes

Was it Emony or Emory Dax who met McCoy ?
