Well Samantha can turn Darrin into a toad with just one thought. If I were him I would be very careful about raising my voice.

In one of the later episodes, Darrin was turned into an old man. The experience drove home the reality that he would one day truly become elderly while Sam would not. But she assured him that she too would grow "old" alongside him, in appearance if nothing else. Her choice. That's love, and an honest commitment to stay together until his mortal end.

That's correct. I wonder what cutoff age they would stop at in terms of aging. It makes you also wonder. Why doesn't Endora or Aunt Clara or Uncle Arthur make themselves younger. Why do they choose to look the age they do when they have the power to look as young or old as they want.

Maybe it's something considered in bad taste. As with humans if they wear makeup or dress too youthfully for their age.

Maybe those spells only work on Mortals. Endora and Clara maybe thousands of years old. Perhaps one of them vexed Odysseus.

I've been watching a few episodes of the original every now and then on one of the classic TV channels, and I have admit, Darren's attitude towards her witchcraft does kind of bug me. I understand he didn't know she was a witch at first, but it's still kind of shitty of him to force her to deny who she is.
And I've been think that a new version of the show with a more modern approach to their relationship could be interesting. So this definitely has my attention.

Darrin had his occasional victories over Samantha's family, whether it was involving an ethical matter, or in rare cases, using witchcraft against another witch (e.g. a magic amulet, or getting one witch to protect him from another). Darrin's best weapon was his talent for insulting Samantha's family (and Dr. Bombay), as delivered by the Dick Sargent version. The Sargent Darrin was nowhere near as irate and manic as the York version, with the former twisting the insult screws with often funny results / shocked reactions from the witches.

I reread the plot of the first episode and Darrin learns that Samantha is a witch after they get married. You know, maybe that's a detail that should be communicated before a wedding. Let's say that ethically they are both at fault.

I wonder if she felt she could just go forever without using her powers. But that wouldn't stop family from showing up. I think she probably didn't say anything out of fear of rejection.

She doesn't age, he does. Sooner or later he would have noticed something strange, right?

I think she could have aged with him. At least on the surface. Then become young looking again when he dies someday.
