Star Trek: Enterprise's Enterprise NX-01 and Star Trek Beyond's USS Franklin NX-326 gave us two art teams' versions of the mid 22nd century of Trek. Curious which version people prefer the look of?

Personally, I like the look of Enterprise NX-01's sets and uniforms more, but wish the ship and sets had been smaller like we saw on the Franklin (the Franklin is about 1/4 the size of NX-01). The Franklin's retro 80's green-on-black screengraphics were really cool for a movie but likely wouldn't work for an ongoing series. I think the Franklin's exterior looks nicer than the NX-01, and the phaser props are nicer looking than ENT's plastic mini hairdryers.

I can't choose... both are great... but the Kelvin-verse one looks more up to date...

For the ship's outer hull, I choose the Franklin, but for everything else, I choose the Prime universe show.

I like both but prefer ENT. I'd love to see both ships (ship types) side by side in some action.

I like the NX better. Though I do wonder what the Franklin looked like in its prime (esp. the engine room)...

I haven't really seen the Franklin but the NX is beautiful.

Considering that the NX-01 is nothing more than the Akira class that Drexler "primitivised" (my own term), my vote is for the Franklin.

They compliment each other quite well. Franklin is a claustrophobic, clunky prototype for a long-range vessel. NX is more refined, elegant and spacious.

Pretty much how I look at it.

I voted for the Franklin/Beyond approach, but that's not a knock at all towards the NX-01. I just like the Franklin look just a little bit more. What's important to remember is that while the Franklin pre-dates the NX-01, the uniforms from Beyond come later than what we saw on Enterprise. So, really, a true representation of this era would kind of be a mix of the two.

The Franklin seems beefier, despite being clearly smaller. I like it. But the uniforms look like Wal-Mart jumpers, so the NX-01 wins in that department.

I wonder how different the Franklin looked back in her day. Pre-UFP uniforms, yeah, but did she also get an engine swap, or new bridge consoles, or new pennant art?

I PREFER THE NX-01 myself- it has an elegance and practicality to it's design.
The Franklin is also nice, but it seems to suffer from the 'Boy Racer' style of design which dominated the NuTrek. It looks like the ship was designed to look swoopy and cool with how it functions being shoe horned in later.

One thing to consider- the Nx-01 was designed to support an entire series- the interiors and exterior had to look good in a variety of scenes and be on screen for years. The Franklin was designed for some very specific scenes and to look good flying across the big screen.

The NX-01 is, imho, one of the most elegant, sleek, and attractive ships in Star Trek. So, that's my vote. Franklin is great, but I'm just so fond of NX-01.

Love both designs, but the NX-01 wins for me by virtue of featuring in more hours of Trek. I had more time to get to know and love it.
