Batman: Arkham Asylum IS AWESOME, buy it now

The PS3 version has exclusive challenge levels that let you play as the Joker, but I still went with the 360 version because I heard that it looked better (and I'm generally more comfortable with the 360 controller anyway).

Though I like the controller and the graphics are a bit better, PS3's exclusive content still puts it over the top, IMO.

Alright that settles it. I'm going to go out and get this thing today.

360 or PS3? Why?

If you have both consoles, get it for PS3 for Joker.

Lens of Truth is a pretty good site that does side-by-side comparisons for games on the PS3 and 360 and they did one for Arkham Asylum. They grade on graphics, performance, control and loading, and even have screen shots for both versions.

Of course, if you're like a certain poster (or two) on here that thinks the 360 version of Fallout 3 getting a 96% grade from one reviewer who gave a 95% to the PS3 version shows how vastly superior the 360 is and how inferior the PS3 is on every level, then nothing Lens of Truth says that isn't slanted toward the 360 will matter anyway (though the majority of the matchups on there go to the 360 anyway). :p

Aw, dammit, I knew I should have gone with the PS3. I should have known it wasn't going to be that big a difference between the two, and the Joker stuff would have been cool. I wish I'd known about that website a few days ago.

Oh well, the game's still awesome either way. :)

I just medaled the last of the silent predator challenges and got 100%. I have easily put in 30 hours into this game. I am going to take a little break and then run through the story again on Normal. Should be a nice change of pace compared to Hard.

Thanks for the advice everyone; I picked it up for PS3 this afternoon. Looking forward to getting started! :D

So, I'm a giant nerd. I was making my way through a tunnel and I hear a bunch of Joker's thugs talking amongst themselves. They were standing around in a circle, and I climbed up on some rafters or vents or whatever above them while I listened in. Then I stood above them and waited until their conversation dies down. Just as one of the guys said "Everybody shut up, this is supposed to be an ambush!" I dropped down right into the middle of the circle and beat the crap out of them.

Times like that make me wish they had an ingame film maker to make your own game movies.

I'd like it better if one of the challenges was to beat the crap out of Robin
Hah, that can be one of the Joker challenge maps. After you beat him up, there can even be a cut scene where he bursts into flames or explodes or something. :techman:

We should also get one where Joker beats on Batgirl ending in a cut scene where she gets a bullet in her back. Eh, that's not funny...I like Babs. Never cared for Jason Todd, though.

Yeah, but that would be PS3 exclusive.
You made me cry with that, I still haven't gotten over how 360 owners didn't get SOMETHING in return. When I heard that PS3 got the Joker, I immediately thought, "Oh, 360 must be getting someone like Killer Croc since the 360 loves their green crap!" But I have received nothing... :(

Man, Ditto.

I cannot wait until the damn game comes out for the PC!

This game is unreal. I haven't had too much time to enjoy it tonight, but I'm going to go hard when I get home tomorrow.

I have one set of teeth left in Bot Gardens and I can't find them, damnit!

Oh ya, I will definately be double dipping and getting the PC version as well.

Maybe it's because it's the middle of the night, but I can't beat Joker. Or rather, I can't beat his goons. Using the little goons to beef up the big bosses is rather cheap.

Just missing one damn trophy and I'll have the gold for the Predator Challenges. I like the extreme versions better, forces you to be creative as opposed to just relying on the gargoyles.

Finally got mine from Amazon last night (GRRR...) and played it for a few hours.
I'm enjoying it so far.

Man I feel so out of touch with the gaming world. All the reviews I'm seeing are absolutely glowing about this game, the buzz here in this thread is extremely favorable, and yet I played the demo and was just kind "meh" about the whole experience.

I guess I've played so many damned shooters that I've just ruined myself for all other game types.

Eh, it's alright. The demo was pretty damn short, and they teased us with unreachable areas via missing tools.
