He's not attention-whoring, he's correcting a false assumption rather than letting people run with it. Give the guy a break, will ya?
I think it goes without saying that if Christopher could say more, he would have done so long ago. Calling it "attention whoring" was out of line.
Well, whatever the reason really was, couldn't someone have acted a lot sooner than six months before the release of the first one, when the books were either written or pretty damn close to being done?
Yeah... that's quite uncalled for, beamMe. Do you have something against the Trek authors? IIRC you had another "run-in" with David Mack on the Vanguard: Storming Heaven review thread...
Given how the thread has already derailed I'm just going to inject that its title (due to the quirky "the") always makes me picture someone straining himself to heave Robau's captain's chair to pitch him about. Perhaps into a pit of pitch. Hmm. Kelvin story acting as a prequel to Skin of Evil? Perhaps the thread title is a clever attempt to get past the no story ideas rule ... Or maybe it's a quest to find the most-muscled TrekLit author by having a Faran Tahir throwing contest? So many questions ... (Ok, one more: Yevetha might be Mintakan. Think The Picard! Sorry Yevetha .)
Of course I don't have anything against Trek authors. What a stupid question. If that were the case, I wouldn't buy their books.
You *do* realize it wasn't an actual question, right? But in all honesty, your choice of words does seem a bit.. rude.. whatever
an accusation... of.. what..? never mind, let's keep this civil and agree to disagree, discussion etiquette aside. there is such a thing as too blunt in a civil conversation, but again - to each his own.
So. I think a book about Captain Robau of the U.S.S. Kelvin would be really cool. How about you guys?
