Welcome to the voting thread for August’s 229th TrekBBS Fan Art Contest! The theme is “Toon Trek” and participants were tasked with creating art that tales inspiration from their favorite non-Trek cartoon or comic and draw Trek scenes in the same manner.

Wish I could have entered myself, but I had a combination of being too busy plus I couldn't narrow it down between about a half dozen ideas!

I think this was the closest I've ever come to winning the art challenge.

I loved all the entries so it was really difficult to choose even two, but one of my votes went to yours, @Firebird

Oh wow, this was neck and neck! And for the longest time it totally looked like you would take it home easily, @Firebird.

Glad to see such animated turnout, but not surprising with these high quality entries. What bugs me, though, is that there’s one person who only gave one vote instead of two.

Congratulations, @Starscape! Very good to see that taking the time to add the vulcan lyre paid off.

I will hand over the golden badge in a jiffy …

Wow, thanks everyone. I did not expect that result, when I last looked yesterday (a few hours before the poll closed) it appeared like we were heading for a run-off vote.

That the voting was so close just goes to prove the quality of all the entries. Well done everyone!

I'll get to posting the new challenge thread asap.
