Spoilers Arrow - Season 6

Maybe a stupid question, but are Oliver en john back to killing people? Some shots seem pretty lethal .

When you're shooting people with arrows and bullets it's hard to make things look non-lethal, but the idea is they're "just sleeping". Otherwise he would have just put an arrow through Diaz there at the end.

It's been established (not often enough, IMHO) that Spartan's and Wild Dog's guns fire "trank bullets." As for arrows, in real life their impacts are usually nonlethal unless they hit right in the heart or a major artery -- and even in the latter case, they slow the bleeding as long as they stay in the wound (which is why the common practice of TV/movie characters to yank out arrows/spears as soon as possible is insanely stupid). So presumably those henchmen hit by GA's arrows would survive long enough for the EMTs to get to them.

True, there was an arrow shot in last week's episode that appeared to hit its victim right in the chest, but it was probably offset from the heart. As it happens, I just rewatched a Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode featuring an Italian sword-and-sandal flick in which a character who took an arrow hit to virtually the exact same spot in his chest and survived. I was surprised at first, but when I thought about it, I realized it was possible.

As someone who is an archer for both recreation and hunting, kinda. The draw weights on GA's bows are insane- and we can go into the issues that creates on-screen later- but his arrows, using the Zwickey Eskilite cut-on-contact broadheads are incredibly lethal. Even a shoulder hit would likely sever the brachial artery and cause death within minutes. A gut shot? Also dead.. it'll just be from internal bleeding as even breathing would move the arrowhead around inside you, slicing everything apart.

More realistically, given GA's equipment, he'd be getting pass-throughs on almost all of this shots- meaning the arrow goes straight in one side and out the other. Death is imminent and unavoidable unless he shot you inside the hospital hallway. Pretty much, on a human, the only for-sure non-lethal spot to get shot with a two-bladed broadhead out of a 60-100lb bow is in the knee or lower calf. Upper leg shots risk hitting the femoral artery. Guts, we talked about... anything in the ribcage/chest area is highly likely to be fatal, neck and head, duh, no chance there.

Even still, bad guys fall down and stay down when GA hits them in the supposedly non-fatal areas... they would not lose consciousness that fast, if at all if that was actually the case; unless his arrows are coated in a ridiculously fast acting neuro-toxin that knocks the target out.

Did they cast Willa Holland and Susanna Thompson as mother and daughter because they both have moles on their lips in roughly the same place?

Speaking of returning dead characters, was the Malcolm/Thea scene in the opening a clip from an earlier episode? Since I didn't see any news about John Barrowman returning or see his name in the guest credits.

I liked the interplay between Ollie's "sister-wives." I don't think we've seen Nyssa and Felicity interact much before.

I think it was from early season 2. It was very familiar scene.

I loved seeing Nyssa's snarky side when she called Felicity her "sister wife" and earlier when she admitted to Ollie that she kept mentioning their marriage in front of Felicity BECAUSE it irritated the blonde. I think Nyssa was getting back at Felicity for her own season 2 assumption that Sara was interested in Felicity when first they met.

ETA The "Thea/ Malcolm" scene was from the start of season 3 (After she nearly died at the end of season 2s "miraku" infused slugfest ) when Malcolm picked her up and agreed to train her.

I forgot to ask something about Curtis this week. Why was he so interested in what Team Arrow was serving at Thea's going away party? A couple of weeks ago he ripped Felicity's and John's interest in how Mad Dog was doing and that there would never be any joint cooperation in the future, now he's wishing he could be at the Bon Voyage party?

Oh, and after seeing Nyssa again, all I can say is Ava better hope she never shows up on LOT.

I guess he likes parties.

I think it's in character for Curtis. He's not a person who's naturally good at holding grudges. Besides, he's not mad at Thea.

What surprised me was how easy the League of Assassins annulment ceremony was. When Nyssa said the symbol of annulment was a ceremonial dagger, I expected it would have to be stuck inside somebody.

So, did we just see a potentiol new Arrow-verse spinoff being created, with Thea, Roy and Nyssa going after these Lazarus pits? Or was this just another way of not having Thea in several episodes again?

I think it's a way of giving Willa Holland a final sendoff. She's had a reduced role for a couple of seasons now, and I think this was how they chose to write her out for good, while also giving her arcs some closure. I'm not sure, though.

In general, though, I've been thinking that it might be time for Arrow to wrap things up for good and for Berlanti Productions to create a new show to take its place, maybe reshuffling some of the existing cast of the various shows. If Diggle's unhappy with being a second banana, maybe he could split off and lead his own new team, as Spartan or some other identity, and be the anchor of a new team show.

Or any more episodes full stop?

Seem to recall reading she was contracted for 13 eps this season. Anyone got a count on how many she's done?

Can't disagree with this, and don't even know that I'd want or need a replacement series (at least not one springing from Arrow, though I'd take a Supergirl spinoff -- LoSH? Midvale? -- all day long). Arrow's first couple of seasons rocked, but for me there've been diminishing returns ever since. Right now it's not only my least favorite Arrowverse show by far, it's probably my least favorite current DC show period. (Black Lightning trounces it easily, in the gritty street-level superhero sweepstakes and otherwise; I'm personally really enjoying Krypton so far; and even Gotham is probably more fun to me week-to-week, if only for its sheer bugfuck outrageousness.)
