Anyone familiar w/ Sacramento, California?

Hubby and I are going there for a day, to check out where I'll be taking the Bar and what hotels are nearby.

Without breaking the bank, anyone know of a decent/nice place to eat lunch? Someplace that's not a chain?

I highly recommend Pyramid Alehouse. Not only is the beer great (try the Apricot Ale) but the food is also really good, especially the burgers.

I work and go to school in Sacramento (and live right outside it) so yes, I am familiar with it. Unfortunately I don't know a lot of the eating choices since I haven't been able to afford going out to eat in several months (I moved here about 6 months ago). I work right next to the Capital building and of course the restaurants are hugely expensive.

The one place I've been that was really great was Pronto, an Italian place that is somewhere in between a sit-down restaurant and fast food. You order at the counter and they give you one of those buzzer things and when it goes off you go pick up your food at the counter then take it to go or sit down to eat. It's not too expensive and the food is REALLY good.

If you're looking for a more fancy sit-down type restaurant I can't help you there.
