Any train fans around?

Excellent!

I have been watching a series called, “Secrets of the Railways” it is very enjoyable and even somewhat historical! I get it on Amazon Prime.

Secrets of the Railways
2019 ‧ Documentary

“Many of the world's most spectacular railways were constructed during history's most turbulent periods and are now associated with some of mankind's ugliest deeds. A vast number of the stories surrounding these railroads have been lost to the passing years and are now unknown, even to those that work or travel on them every day. This documentary series unearths the most captivating tales behind these railways and offers viewers a glimpse into their hidden and, often, a very dark and chilling past.”

living near the TVRM is interesting. I don't really get out there as much as I like, even when I worked down the street. But if you happen to be along the line, you can see interesting things, at times. They still use one of their old diesels to shunt small loads for paying freight, now and then. But this was even more interesting, bringing out a nearly 120 year old crane to do some work. They do make good use of their stock.

Phys org has a good write up on how black ice on rails is worsened by powdered leaf debris.

You can always expect potholes under where tree branches hang over asphalt.

Hmm

That is insane, i would be about 3 miles away from that incase any of the pandrols decided to snap under the pressure of holding up heavy sleepers as i have seen that happen when a tamper machine struck a wonky sleeper and the pandrol snapped and went through the tampers window were luckly it did not hit anyone inside......a accident waiting to happen. Lol
