Spoilers An alternate fate for Sha're (Stargate SG-1)

I've always wondered since Forever in a Day how the rest of the series would be like if Sha're had lived, free of Amaunet, instead of being killed by Teal'c. I felt it was a missed opportunity because the character had so much potential. I also wanted Daniel to be happy after having suffered so much over his wife's abduction and possession.

What scenarios can you imagine occurring within the show if Sha're had lived?

It is possible that Daniel would have tried to move back to Abydos with Sha're to live out the rest of his life with her. But Daniel most likely would have to come back to SG1 at some point to help with the fight against the Goauld. So, ultimately, I envision Sha're living with Daniel on Earth and becoming a semi regular character like Bratac. Sha're could get involved at some point, helping in the fight against the Goauld. I do think that Daniel would probably never ascend which might change the latter seasons quite a bit.

Daniel would have probably taken time off at first but then realized even though Sha’re was safe he was still needed in the fight and come back. If he had never ascended, things probably would have not gone so well with Anubis, as eventually he was needed to talk Oma into trapping him in eternal stalemate.

Daniel would be even less comfortable around Vala's overt sexuality in the final seasons.

I also wonder how it would affect his attitude toward Sarah/Osiris. Sarah in a way gave him a second chance to save Sha’re, so what happens if he succeeded his first chance? Is he maybe just a little more willing to kill Osiris given the chance?

I'm still wondering why they changed her name. In the original film, her name is Sha'uri.

And if Daniel saves Sha're, then many of the later storylines, like with Sarah, or his ascendance, are different or even abandoned.

And the actress ended up being his ex-girlfriend after having a kid together, so I imagine having her becoming a recurring character was not in the cards.

It would have been nice to have a married person, and that dynamic included on the show. Thats the thing with all these shows is that they never show a married part of the Team or Crew ( I know Disco did.. which was nice) A major part of military life is the balance with loved ones and children.. so addressing daniel being gone for days/weeks at atime and what that done do her would be some interesting stories. And having her and maybe a kid when he accended would have made some drama.

So lets see, they take the first year looking and in the 2nd they find her, and probably put her in a coma or hibernation for abit till they figure out how to get rid of the Parasite..
So after that, they'd be married, maybe a kid on the way. But danel still being a part of SG1, maybe Sha uri being a nurse or something on base, maybe instead of Carter with jolanar they would shift that to Sha uri and have her in the field ocasionally.. It could work!

IIRC, they broke up after Forever in a Day was filmed, so that really wouldn't have been a factor at all.

It could also simply be an issue regarding translation/pronunciation.. Whatever language Sha're speaks (ancient Egyptian?), there's probably different ways of pronouncing her name in English.

Teal’c was married for the first few seasons before Drayac died.

Writers tend not to like to have their characters be in stable relationships because they rely on sexual tension to make the jeopardy more acute.

So the comedians are right! Married people don't have sex! :) Jason
