The gif is still there on imgur. If you right click on your .gifv and select "View Video", it should come up as something in the address bar like "i.imgur.com/...... .mp4". Just change that ".mp4" to ".gif", and there's your gif. Of course, it would be even better if XenForo allowed embedded media from imgur.

It does, I think (at least Sufficient Velocity does and they use XenForo).
