Spoilers Ah, the NEW uniforms...!

Oh dear, I hate the uniforms. They didn’t look too bad in the brightly lit starbase scenes, but they looked horrible on the Disco crew. My least favourite Starfleet uniform design ever—worse than TMP pyjamas (of which they remind me). Considering the amount a costume change will have cost production, I imagine we’ll be stuck with them, probably for the duration of the series.

I think the uniforms could be tailored better, but I'm sure they already have been for the fourth season.

All the pips are overkill. They're on both shoulders and on the collar, and I think, "We get it already! You're this rank! We don't need to see it three times!"

The uniforms are over-designed. But if they simplify some things, they can work. It's an updated TMP Uniform, basically.

Sorry,
it looks like Ensign Tilly wears command red in the photo of this review: https://trekmovie.com/2021/01/07/re...ry-gets-connected-in-that-hope-is-you-part-2/

But in this video at time index 0:31 she wears blue:

Similarly, in the same video I thought I saw Ensign Tal standing portside on the bridge in a yellow operations uni, but they're next seen with their parents and having a blue science uniform. Am I seeing things wrong?

Is that scene in the photo a part of the episode (can't recall)? If so, then maybe Tilly is doing double duty and ops to wear science blue like Spock, but still serve as XO. Or Vance is going to assign an XO and they are off to pick one up.

If this made it into the finished episode, then the Script Supervisor or the Editing Team messed up somewhere.

The Script Supervisor would take notes of continuity. Production Continuity, not Trekkie Continuity. i.e. They'd take note that in Shot 1A, Tilly has blue. And in Shot 1B, Tilly has red. Then they'd make a note of which shots the Director wants to use.

The Editing Team would edit together the different shots, looking at the Script Supervisor's notes, working with the Director, and looking at what they themselves would see, and they'd coordinate with each other.

Sometimes things slip through the cracks. And this would be one of them, if it did.

So now we went from blue

To grey

Cool

Saying a woman looks pregnant, meaning fat, is judging her for her looks. It's creepy and unacceptable.
Are you speaking as a poster or as a moderator?

And it looks like they didn't have long to digitally make the change. Once you pay attention to it, the replacement blue looks pretty bad in some shots.

Maybe they will get detachable uniforms......now all personal warp capable....
Dunno...does Trek not always change up the uniforms?

The new uniforms and Discovery's bridge don't match. They will have to go full Apple store starbase/computer core room with the bridge now, IMHO.
I hope they go for a more interesting look but even if they go apple storeish I wouldn't mind: always hated the looks of the discovery sets.

All they need are some little hats and they'd all look like bellhops...

I mean it's not the worst design ever, but it's not great. It needs some contrast in there to make it pop. Even switching to black trousers (and maybe collars?) would help. I'd also kinda wished they'd embraced the Bajoran Militia inspired cut. That at least had some personality.

Mind you, these all look an awful lot more like dress uniforms than duty uniforms, so i wouldn't be shocked if they look a little different the next time we see them. The collar design looks especially awkward and uncomfortable.
