I feel like France are lucky to be 2-1 so far; their goals have come from an own goal and a penalty from a really stupid Croatian handball. Otherwise Croatia have been dominating this game.

True that Croatia had been dominating. But I do think the own goal was fair because the goal would have happened even without the deflection. The penalty kick is the only goal that was lucky.

I have to admit that I am bit conflicted about the handball penalty. True it is the rule. And a penalty on a clearly visible foul is obviously justified but a penalty on a handball that could have been accidental and was only visible on super slo-mo video replay, seems a bit unfair. Maybe it would have been more fair to ignore the handball so the game was based on "fair" goals and not penalties?

France have looked so much better in the second half. It's not impossible but I just can't see Croatia coming back from being down 4-1.

ETA: Of course, literally seconds after I posted this, Croatia made it 4-2.
